"-nna!"

"Anna! Hey! You ok?"

Anna jumped and looked across the lunch table, which was a boy who seemed to be her age. She looked at his face but no features were seen. All she was able to pick up was his black hair and pale skin. "Um, yeah. Im fine" The words came out automatically for her.

"You sure? You've been daydreaming alot lately?" The boy spoke with concern. "Im fine ------" The sound of his name didn't come out. "------" Nothing. "------!" Silence was what she heard. "You dont have to call me again." The boy chuckled. "Are you sure you are fine?" Anna looked down shocked.

"Anna?"

"Hey Anna?"

"Anna!"

She sat up rapidly. She looked around and layed her eyes on Jayden. "Yo, you ok? Ive been calling you" Anna looked around and saw she was on her bed. It was that dream again, but who is that guy I always see? She pondered as she stayed in a sitting position. A hand came into her vision. "Earth to Anna! Are you really ok? Have you been popping some pills?" Anna was broken out of her train of thoughts. "Huh? Yeah I am totally fine! And no! I am not 'popping some pills"

"Alright im gonna go! Bye Jayden!" Anna waved to Jayden and closed the door behind her. Anna pulled out her phone and texted Karen while walking. Nothing new from her friend, just boy drama and whatnot. Anna then felt a body collide with hers. She looked up and saw Ben. "You remind me of one of those people that they show on those anti-tech ads" He smiled down at her. "Yeah, yeah. Anyways sorry. Wait, you're not going to school?" Anna looked at him surprised. "How did you know" He smiled.

"I mean you're walking the opposite direction as me" Ben shrugged, "I guess that made it obvious. Im deciding on taking a break, ya know?" Anna looked confused. "Didn't you just start school?" Ben nodded, "Yeah, but I aint into school that much. Rather explore than learn useless shit" Anna nodded, "Well I should get going" Ben waved at Anna "Alright, say hi to Karen for me"

The house was very quiet, Jayden walked around. Damn, being a ghost is boring as hell. He sat down and turned on the TV. Nothing interesting. He turned it off and walked to the near by window. He looked at the world ahead of him. He wished he was human again. Able to walk around and be noticed. Able to taste his favorite foods. Talk to more than just one person.

As he daydreamed, he heard a clatter. He turned around and saw no one. "Weird?" He walked over to what fell. It was a plastic cup. He used his energy to pick it up and put it back to the table. Another clatter was heard, coming from Annas room. "Ok, what the fuck?" He walked inside the room and saw a pencil holder knocked down on the desk. Underneath was a note. He picked it up and read it.

"B, the hell?" As he held the note, he heard a voice. "We'll meet soon Jay~" He turned around, no one. He walked out of the room. "Seems like I have a ghost friend" He then realized something. "I have a fellow ghost friend!" He said happily, practically bouncing up and down like a child.

Anna sat at the lunch table with Karen across from her. Karen was rambling to Anna about Ben. "I told him to piss off. And he did! Which made me pissed. So I yelled at him that it was just a joke. And the bastard laughed at me!" Karen fumed as she ate her lunch. "Hmm, that sounds like Karen is developing a crush on someone" Anna said calmly as she ate. "What?! No! I wouldnt date that ass, even if I was dying!" She blushed. "Wow I am hurt" A familiar voice joined in.

Ben stood behind Karen. "What the hell?!" Karen jumped. "Hey, didnt you say that you were going to stay at home?" Anna asked. Ben nodded, "Yeah, but the house was too quiet with my sibling being at school. So I decided to come and join" He then turned to Karen and smirked, "Glad I did though, never would have known that Karen would be crushing on me. I feel special" Ben put a hand on his cheek and pretended to be blushing.

As Karen and Ben continued to argue, Anna felt a great pain come from her stomach. Remember Mommy and Daddy's fights? You were always the one to be blamed

"Stop being a lazy bum and start working!"

"I will you hag! Isnt our daughter old enough to work?!"

"Shes useless like you!"

"She takes that from you. I shouldnt have gotten with you!"

"You should have thought about that before getting in bed with me!"

Upstairs was Anna trying to muffle out the voices. "Its ok. Its not your fault. Its ok. Its not you fault. Its ok. Its not your fault" She mumbled over and over with tears falling.

"Yo Anna, you ok?" Karen asked concerned. "You look like your in pain? Was the food shitty?" Ben asked. Anna never told Karen about the life she had with her parents. She only explained that she was kicked out, due to bad grades. Never about the abuse. She always smiled through it. Its ok. Its not your fault. Anna smiled at the two and spoke

"Im ok guys"
