Chapter 4

A few days pass. Your wounds haven't fully healed, but you're making a recovery much faster than Ozpin had imagined. You figured it had something to do with your Semblance. ( A/N: Spoilers for Fairy Tail. The Dragonslayers Dragons actually live in them, and create antibodies. This is why your character heals faster than normal.) Now, you and Blake sit on the Bulldog headed towards Beacon.

She sits silently reading a book, while you stand looking out the window. A boy with blonde hair rushes by you, vommiting. You chuckle and take pity on him. After all you suffer from motion sickness also. Knowing what it's like, you decide to help him out.

You tap him on the shoulder, and hand him some pills. " These help with my motion sickness," you explain.

He takes them gladly. After waiting for a while, they kick in. He smiles. " Juane Arc. Short, sweet, rolls of the tongue. The ladies love it," he says.

You chuckle. " (y/n.) Nice to meet you."

" You get motion sick also huh? I knew it was much more common than people made it out to be," he says, clearly feeling validated to have found someone else with motion sickness.

" It's a side effect of my Semblance. My father, the one who taught me how to use it told me that everyone who has the same Semblance as me has the same problem," you say. " Luckily I have a good Semblance, so it balances out pretty well."

" What is your Semblance," he asks. " Oh, and what's your weapon?"

" Actually I don't use a weapon. My Semblance is Iron Dragon Slayer. It's powerful enough that I don't need to rely on a weapon. How about you?"

He shows me his sword and shield. I notice that he chooses not to give any details about his Semblance. But I figure it isn't important. Maybe he just isn't absolutely certain how it works. Either way, I'm glad to know Juane. He seems like a nice guy. Maybe he and I can become friends.

When we land, we see a girl with short red and black hair cause an explosion. I don't know her, but pretty much everyone in the world can recognize Weiss Schnee. She yells at the younger girl, until Blake steps in. I don't hear what she says, but it ends the argument.

Weiss storms off, and Blake leaves to find the auditorium. The third girl comes over to me and Juane and introduces herself as Ruby. The three of us try to find the auditorium, to little luck. On the way we talk about our weapons and abilities. When Ruby shows us Crescent Rose, I whistle appreciatively.

She explains that it's a sniper rifle as well. Jaune shows his sword and shield, and then Ruby asks you where your weapon is. You give her the same answer you gave Juane, and explain your Semblance as well. Her eyes light up. " Iron Dragon Slayer!? What's it do?!"

" It gives me the ability to turn my hands and feet into weapons to attack, and a range of other abilities. I can eat metal to replenish my energy, I have increased durability and heal quicker. In addition, my Semblance gives me the striking power to kill a dragon by crushing it's scales and bones."

Ruby starts to fangirl over your Semblance, and you can't help but laugh. In the auditorium, Ozpin gives a speech about energy and direction. Some students talk about he doesn't seem to be all there, but you know from experience that it's far from the truth. In his own way, he's saner than all of you.

Later that night, the students are gathered in the ballroom. You sit next to Blake as she reads, and bounce a yoyo up and down. You don't talk much, as neither of you is good at small talk. Unfortunately for you, you also can't tolerate silence as long as she can.

" Sooo...we get teams tomorrow."

" Yeah. I'm curious what the process is" she admits. " And I'd like to end up on team with you. It'd be nice to have at least one familiar face on the team."

Ruby and a taller blonde girl come up to you. The blonde introduces herself as Yang, and she and Ruby try to talk to Blake. It doesn't go anywhere at first, but eventually they end up talking about happy endings. You can't help but share the sentiment Ruby expresses that we all have a happy one.

Eventually you to sleep. The next morning you get dressed, and soon find yourself with the rest of the students on the cliff edge, as Ozpin explains the orientation. You can't help but get excited as he goes on. You've rarely ever had an opportunity to fight Grim.

He finishes. " Any questions?"

Juane raises his hand. " Yeah um actually"

Ozpin cuts him off. " Good. Then let's get started."
