I looked down at the card in my hand then up at the sign. They matched. I took a deep breath and opened the door. I nearly jumped when the bell dinged.

He walked out to see me staring at the bell, "Does that bother you dearie?" He chuckled.

"Um, no. Just, kinda surprised me."

"The bell? You are afraid of the bell?" He walked toward me.

"Well, I, um..."

He walked up to me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "Never change my dear. Why don't we go to lunch? There is a restaurant down the road. Absolutely disgusting, but good hamburgers."

I smiled and agreed. He seemed nice enough, and after that magic kiss we shared, how could I not? I had driven all the way down here to see him after all.

We went down to a dinner called 'Granny's' and took a seat at a table. Soon a a girl on her twenties, whit red highlights came up to us, "Hey. I'm Ruby. What's your name?"

"Uh, y/n."

"You will have to forgive miss Lucas." He put a hand on mine before glaring at the girl, "We don't get many visitors in town and she is awfully nosy."

"Sorry Gold. I didn't mean to intrude on your date." The girl growled back.

"It would do you good to stay out of my personal life. Now, I would like a hamburger and a tea."

Ruby turned to me, "I'll also have a hamburger. Oh, and a lemonade please." The girl smiled and went back to the kitchen.

I looked back over at him after Ruby disappeared into the back. "Thank you for bringing me here."

He scoffed, "This is nothing. If you would like, I will take you to dinner somewhere nicer."

"I would like."

All of the sudden an older lady stomped over to our table, "Gold!"

"Can I help you dear?" He looked up at her.

"I don't want you fulfilling you twisted deals in my restaurant! Take you little deal down the road to the ice cream parlor or something." The woman nearly shouted, bringing all the attention to us.

"Forgive me if I'm wrong, but did you just imply that the only way I could get a date with a beautiful young woman was through a deal? If that is correct, and I assume it is, I will have you know, y/n came here on her own accord." The woman stood there glaring for a minute before he continued, "I do believe we will be taking our business somewhere else." He stood up and I mimicked his action, "Also, Widow, do be expecting a raise in your rent."

Then we left, and went down towards the docks. "My apologies my dear." He looked over to me, "I am afraid I can be hard to get along with, and I have a bit of a reputation."

"Nah. I thought it was hot." I couldn't get my hand to my mouth in time to stop the words from spilling out.

He smirked, "Is that so?" I nodded. "I'm glad you though so, because it's not an unusual occurrence."

We sat down on a bench and watched the waves roll. It was so pretty, and we got some good talking in.

After a wile I mentioned getting back so I could get ready for dinner. He agreed and stood up before extending a hand to me. I took it and he pulled me up, but I tripped over a loose board.

I fell into him, knocking him onto his back, and me on top of him. I immediately roll off him and I laid there mortified, "I am so sorry. I'm really clumsy."

He laughed and sat up, "No bother. I think it's hot."

I sat up and faced him, "Is that so?"

"Indeed." He pulled me closer and kissed me softly, "Very much."
