Dean's Pov:
"Sammy, I'm worried about her." I mumble my voice low, as I fight making eye contact with my younger brother.
"I know Dean. I know, I am too." Sam's soft tone shows more emotion than usual. I look up to see his head hanging low with a sad expression.
"She's gonna be okay Sammy, she's with us." I say trying to convince the both of us.
"Yeah." He sighs as he walks away.
I inhale deeply before I open the door to Amanda and I's room. Once I walk through the door, I notice my beautiful babygirl sleeping soundly under the covers. I grin to myself as I crawl into bed beside her.
It's gonna be okay baby girl, I got you.
I think as I feel myself start to drift off to sleep with her safely in my arms.
Amanda's Pov:
I toss over in a familiar pair of strong arms. Dean's arms. I smile up at his sleeping face.
So peaceful looking.
I run my fingers down his jawline very slowly.
I'm so lucky to have him, and Sam. I think to myself as a small smile starts to form on my lips.
Just then the disturbing thoughts from yesterday start to creep back into my mind.
God can't I just smile without it getting ruined for once? I think to myself as I squiggle out of Dean's protective arms and make my way to the bathroom.
I strip off my clothes and step into the steaming hot water. I slide down into the tub and try to relax.
Your broken, an angel confirmed it. You are broke and you can't be fixed. Why do you think an angel was going to kill you? He said he was going to put me out of my misery. Would it be better if I did it myself?
I fight back and forth with my thoughts until there is a sudden rapping at the door.
"Amanda, you in there?" I hear Dean's gruff morning voice call from the other side of the door.
"Yeah, I'm in the tub. I'll be out in a couple minutes!" I yell back to him through the door.
"Okay, I'll be down stairs with Sammy. Love you babygirl!" He says before his footsteps leave the room.
I take a long calming breath before I get out of the tub and dry off. Once I dry off, I run a brush though my hair and then get dressed. I decide to wear some blue ripped jeans with a black crop-top and one of Dean's red flannels. Satisfied with everything I walk downstairs to meet with Dean and Sam.
I hear both of their voices going back and forth talking about something that sounds very important. I walk in, making my presence known. They stop their conversation and look to me with uncomfortable smiles.
"Hey guys!" I announce breaking the silence, as I walk over to the fridge.
"Hey Amanda, how are you feeling today?" Sam questions looking over to me with a hopeful expression.
"I'm great, what about you Sammy?" I answer with a huge smile.
"Oh, I'm good." Sam replies with an awkward smile.
"Well that's good, what about you Dean-o, are you good?" I question as I look over to meet his graceful stare.
"Oh, yeah I'm good." He says with a hint of sarcasm to his tone.
"Okay good, so what are we doing today?" I ask as I look between the two of my favorite men.
"Um, well today we were thinking that it could be our chill day. You know just to have a break for a day?" Dean answers with a slight bit of question to his tone.
"Wait a minute, so you mean we aren't working a case today?" I question astonished at the news I had just received.
"There are no cases today. Nothing strange or out of the ordinary." Sam quickly pipes in with a weird smile.
Hmm, they are acting real strange..
I look over to him and then back at Dean who is nodding in agreement with his brother's statement.
"Oh okay, well I guess it's our day off." I mumble mostly to myself.
"Yeah, so how about a movie?" Dean suggests looking over to me with one of his cute trademark smiles.
"Sounds good, let me go change into something more comfortable." I lie before taking off up the stairs and to my room.
I quickly pull out my computer and do a search on the local news.
Daily News:
Two victims ripped apart in their own homes. No signs of breaking in, or stolen property, just the two victims body's were found at the crime scenes. First victim is a man in his late 30's, who apparently was having an on going affair with his fellow co-worker. The co-worker came clean when she found out about his death. The second victim is a young man age of 21, the mans girlfriend claims to have talked to him just before the murder happened. She says that their relationship had its ups and downs like many others.
I feel my blood start to boil as I finish up reading the article.
Why the hell would they lie to me over a case?
I push my angered thoughts aside and make my way back downstairs computer in hand.
"Oh hey baby girl!" Dean says smiling to me from the couch.
"Oh hey Dean, I found us a case." I say trying not to go off as I wait patiently for his response.
"Um, really are you sure?" He questions looking up at me with disbelieving eyes.
"Yep." I say as I pass him the computer.
"Both Vics got killed in the same exact manner, plus they both had relationship problems. I call that a case don't you?" I explain with my arms crossed as his eyes scan over the article in fear.
"Um yeah, but we already have a hunter on that case." He replies with a smile.
"But Dean, why would we not handle this case?" I look down at him confusion clearly laced in my voice.
"Because I thought we all deserved a day off, and it's not a hard case for them to work." He says with a convincing smile.
"But Dean we just got back into hunting, like yesterday." I argue clearly still confused.
"Yeah, but what's wrong with taking a day off?" Dean questions with a not so convincing smile.
"How about the fact that hunting is my calm, hunting is what I do to take my mind off of things." I say looking deep into his forest green eyes.
Instead of him coming back with a small remark he decides not to speak.
"Dean you can take your day off, but I'm gonna go work this case." I say as I storm out of the room.
