Lance's POV

(A/N: Sorry for not posting earlier. Also, I'm going to stick with Lance from now on. Just the name.)

"STOP." I commanded the unknown intruder. How did he managed to slipped from our security defenses? I thought Makbrel said this was safe! I had been stressed the whole day, I don't need this. I growled to myself. This has not been a pleasant day!! I made my way over to the scene when I saw.

I stopped.

My eyes widen as I saw his beautiful glory holding down one of my men in his captive. His cold and indifferent eyes sent chills down my spine. It made me numb.

I walked slowly towards him. Once I was close enough, he quickly acted. All of a sudden, the man was withering in pain under his hold and a gun was pointing at me. It was all a blur. Time stopped.

It was just him and me...with a pistol in between.

"Sade." I whispered. His eyes soften when he met mine. "Lawrence!" We stood there staring each other. After a few seconds, Sade finally let down his pistol and backed away from the poor lad. He didn't see it coming....nor did I for that matter. I stared at him for the longest time till he finally blushed. "What are you staring at?" He mumbled. He shook his head and turned his head to the side.

I would chuckle if it weren't for the situation at hand so I spoke, "More importantly, why are you here?" His eyes widened and he shifted uncomfortably. I don't want him to feel uncomfortable, but this place is not a place you can just waltz into. He looked torn and unsure. His lips parted to speak when Ben came barging in. "Oh, it seems as if you guys have met." He swiftly walked towards us.

"I'm sorry." He started. "This rascal over here is my nephew, Sadden Miller. He's a distant relative." He laughed heartily. "He's a bit of a troublemaker. Pardon him. He's visiting me from New York."

I stared at the man with an amused expression. I may have believed him at first with the nephew stuff, however he made a fatal mistake. One, he's a bad liar. Two, he's too friendly with his words. And three, it's me who we're talking about. He smiled sweetly, which he never does...unless it was pure business that's in his advantage. He grabbed Sade's arm roughly, earning a glare from me. Who does he think he is!?

"There's no need to lie, Ben!" Sade pouted, taking his arm roughly away from his grasp. The old man looked at him sternly, but he just ignored him. Sade looked into my eyes. The old man grunted. "I noticed it a while ago but do you guys know each other?" The question was directly pointed to him. Sade sighed. "Answer me, Sadden." He folded his arms. "We..." I started but he cut me off. "Lance and I are in a sort of contract right now." Before he can explain further Makbrel glared at him. "I thought you said you weren't doing any shady business!?"

Sade looked at him with a wide glance. "Are you calling me a liar? I am a writer in New York, okay? I may have hidden things from you...but I never!" He shouted. "I never lied." He then growled. His glare was menacing and the tension was thick. Ben quickly back down. "I'm sorry, I just lost a little of my temper." Sade nodded, guilt passing his eyes. "Don't mention it, I did too." I faked cough and smiled at the two. "Why don't we discuss this somewhere more...appropriate?" The two didn't even replied and just walked away. I followed them.

I paused a little to signal my men to go away.

We went upstairs and turned in to a small living room. It was cramped and messy, full of old papers and coffee cups. The smell was also musky and stiff. Sade and Ben didn't seem affected by it though. They sat down in a seat and watched each other carefully. "So...," I started, "how did you two meet?"

I sat down smiling at the two. Sade looked at me. He made a small smile. Ben coughed. "What about you?" He asked me. I passed a glance to Ben and he gave me a nod. "We were discussing about business. We sometimes negotiate on some matters, like today." The old man nodded at my words.
