Everyone was in their respective lions (Allura went with Shiro, Coran waited in the castle.) As they started to leave Lance started to have a panic attack, the teams words kept echoing in his head.
"What if its not him?" Over and over in his mind. He was broken from his trance by Pidge's head popping up on his screen.
"Lance? You ok?"
"Huh. Oh. Yeah I'm fine." Pidge sighed as she new he wasn't, she knew what it was like to loose someone you love, she knew what it was like to be told they might be alive after a long time of praying only to then think they're not alive. She remembered what it felt like to find half dead Matt, unable to do anything but send him back to Earth to their mother. She wanted to crawl through the screen into the blue lion and hug Lance.
"It'll be ok, and if it's not I'll hug you, I'll sit by you, I'll listen to you, I'll talk, I'll be a shoulder to cry on." She was listing all the things she wanted someone to do to her, but it seemed to work for her friend.
"Thanks Pidge," Lance managed to mutter, trying and failing to hide tears. Pidge nodded and as soon as she was going to log out, Shiro made a group call.
"Okay team, we're at the missing pod so fingers crossed and lets hope for the best." Everyone hummed in agreement, all except Lance who wasn't wasting ant time getting out and was already out his lion.
Pidge signaled for Lance to wait so she can send Rover in first, about thirty seconds after the little robot entered the pod, a notification popped up on the youngest paladins phone. Her face went a ghostly pale and she nudged Shiro, showing him the images. He immediately turned to Allura and sternly told her to wait in the lion.
"Pidge you already know whats to come and Hunk I think Lance should see this alone, so please stay here and wait for us to return." Pidge gave a slight nod, and Hunk grunted his agreement. "All right then, Lance come with me."
Terrified the blue paladin looked around at the team for any clue of what he's about to witness, however Hunk and Allura looked as confused as he did, Pidge was avoiding eye contact and Shiro's face was blank of any emotion.
So preparing for the worst, Lance (leaving Shiro behind) opened the pod door. The entire ship was out of power, scratches (like the ones in Keith's room) covered the chair, blood was all over the control desk. Yet the worst thing that Lance saw, the thing that made him scream was a body covered in crimson blood coated purple fur and as Lance continued to look up he saw huge cat like ears attached to a slightly tinted purple mullet that framed a face he knew from the purple eyes that he used to spend hours staring into, the lips that would curve into the smile that would hypnotize him.
"K-Keith, you. Y-You're a... I'm sorry" Lance sobbed. Taking his crushes hand, not scared that all Keith had to do is scratch him slightly with his long claws, and started stroking it.
"Lance...." Shiro's voice begun
" Leave!" He yelled, "p-please just leave us alone." He wanted to start up the engine and fly away, faster and faster until they where far enough from the others.
"Lance, we need to get him to a healing pod."
"O-Okay, but he flies with ME!" Lance replied almost screaming the last part.
"That's understandable, just please he's losing blood fast."

A/N: Ok, ok, I know that I said that I would update weekly, but hear me out. My computer's broken and I like this story to have no spelling mistakes or anything like that, ya know keep it professorial and all, so I'll be writing another story on my phone called 'My Broken World' witch is kinda like a diary but I change the events a bit to make a more interesting story. However I will be writing when I can borrow my mums laptop (witch won't be often, sorry.) But I hope this extra long chapter makes up for the lack of updates. Thanks for understanding,
