*Jessebell*

Age 13. My Daddy got shot by a bad man two years ago today. You don't know how much I miss my Daddy. You know, when I miss him bad I go sit in Baby and listen to his tapes or I call Sammy and talk to him about it. I can't talk to my mom about it though, because she got remarried a year after Daddy died to this guy named George. I don't even like George, he's mean and impulsive. He thinks women/girls are only good for cooking, cleaning and making babies. The only reason I'm still in school is because he says no man wants a dumb bitch as a wife. I was walking home from school today because George forgot to pick me up, AGAIN. I can't wait till I'm old enough to drive Baby around. It'll be like being with Daddy everyday. I mean I have his jacket I wear everyday that I get picked on about because people think it's weird and that it's like a security blanket. But I never get a chance to explain myself because no body asks and Tyler can't tell them because he's at a different school than me. I got home not seeing Baby in the driveway. Maybe she's in the garage. "Mom, did you decide to put Baby in the garage so you could get out easier?" I called walking in the door. George greeted me instead saying, "No, I sold that car." "What! You don't have the right. That's Daddy's car and I was going to drive it when I was eligible to because he promised."

"It was an old car sweetheart, when you are able to drive I'll buy you a brand new one." mom said walking in the room.

"It was Daddy's. I don't want a new car, I want that one."

"It was worth a lot of money." she said.

"But mom. George didn't have a right to it. Daddy promised me I could have it."

"Well, your mother agreed with me that the ugly thing needed to leave. Besides, Mary, your father broke his promise since he is no longer here."

"He died you son of a bitch." I shouted earning me a slap from George.

"Watch your language when you're in my house, Mary." mom said.

"My name is Jessebell." I said pissed that everyone decided since my Daddy is gone that they are going to call me by my middle name.
"You know Daddy is turning in his grave right?"

"That's a dumb expression. Mary, he didn't care that much about a stupid car."

"He so did and I bet if Daddy could come back from the dead, he'd be pissed."

"I highly doubt it." George said. I needed to get out of here. I need to find out where George sold the car. I turned around and ran out of the house with mom and George hollering after me. I'm going to the cemetery to talk to Daddy. He always listens to me.
