Peeta
Fall came upon us, and it was to school we returned soon enough...we had left for summer vacation when Courtney and Clay had moved here, and now it was their first full year.
It has been a month since Finnick passed and I think about how he could have been better....there was no love lost between us but thee was definitely a feeling of pity that I felt towards him. A feeling that he could have been a much better person.....
Cato and I strided into school hand in hand for the first time since his parents passed. He started working out again, I started working in the bakery once more, and I fell harder for him day by day. Much more than I did before I almost lost him.
Katniss and Cashmere slowly crept back together, yet they had not forgot about the bad publicity they had received about their relationship all those months ago....so there were no definite answers.
Johanna and Clove were inseperable, with constant texts and cards and flowers (from the aid of Cato,) and much more. I was so happy for them as well. They deserved each other.
However, in the midst of all this happiness, I was sad. Not because of anything Cato or the others had done. No, not at all....I was starting to feel the pains of being alone, a stranger with no father in a strange land.
My father still had not returned home, my mother and brother were dead, and for the first time, I began to mourn the loss of everyone who had abandoned me. Cato often held me close when I would cry in the night and he would rub my back and soothe my aching heart.
I began to also think about life with Cato....if it had not been for me running into him that day in the bakery my life would be a totally different story. Cato, the blonde, muscular, beautiful man that I had fallen for, and the reason I was alive at that very moment. Without him, I could not function.
Cato
Peeta was on my mind constantly now as school progressed forward and Courtney constantly had me join her for study hall. She was slowly returning to normal, diving into her books and studies to forget Hannah and the memories of Liberty High that were best left unsaid and unmentioned.
Clay and I maintained a friendship that was unbreakable, but we never slept together ever again. He poured his love into aiding me with Peeta's surprise....something he was going to love once he saw it.
Gloss remained the teacher that he was, and we came out on better terms. He never mentioned that night at Finnick's house, and neither did any of us who were present. Like I said, unsaid and unmentioned is the best way.
Courtney
I was in study hall and I saw this girl sitting alone reading a book. She was a beautiful black girl with black curly, frizzy hair and brown eyes. She seemed deeply into her book.
"Hi, I'm Courtney!" I introduced myself to her after I walked over there.
"Um, hi." she said shyly. She was so cute when she looked down
"What book are you reading?" I asked.
"Uh, um....The Da Vinci Code" she answered.
"Oh, I love that one....what chapter are you on?" I asked, sitting down.
"Um, 15 i think...." she said.
"Oh trust me it's gonna get really good." I laughed.
"Oh, my name is Mia by the way." she added.
"Well, nice to meet you, Mia." I laughed as we began talking.
I had finally found a way to ease my mind away from Hannah...she would always be a part of me but it was time to move, and Hannah would agree.
