Chapter 1- This Brave New World

Peeta

Hello world, it's Peeta Hadley, or as some of you know me by my original name of Peeta Mellark, and I am here to tell more of our story, the story of me and Cato. There is always an end to a story, and here it is, but it's not quite here yet, so read onward.

After our wedding day, Cato took me to the wonderful world of Asia for our honeymoon. Together we visited the bazzars of Istanbul, walked through churches in Jerusalem, ate at roadside stalls in Beijing, visited the Taj Mahal in India, and practiced Zen in the peaceful islands of Japan. All in all it was a life-changing experience for me, especially the fact that I was spending it with Cato who was now my husband and not just my boyfriend!

When we came home, we came home to school, and we began senior year together. It had taken almost all of junior year after we got married to save up for this Asian trip, and the bakery was now a booming success thanks to Katniss opening her coffeeshop next door with her sister Prim. Thankfully though, the crowds only came at lunch so we mainly still had our ancient privacy.

The little apartment above the bakery was still my home after all these years, and it was amazing at how Cato and I had managed to renovate the place and make it beautiful.

"I want a palace for a home, and for now this is our palace!" he proclaimed to me.

"Yes this is our palace....it is better than any in the world." Cato whispered.

Also when we came home, we came home to our senior year, and what a year that truly is for everyone who goes through it. It means goodbye to childhood and hello to the wonderful world of adulthood...psych.

I have been an adult almost my entire life, so now as I get older I am discovering the need to become a kid. All these new thoughts and emotions are coming to me now and I feel like nothing can stop me...but yet things can....

Senior year also does not just mean a diploma and off you go like a cheater onto his or her next victim. Its a process....a process that thankfully only happens once in your lifetime. You have two roads to choose from....college to continue your education or just straight off to work. I didn't know if college was in the works or not....at that moment only God Himself knew.

Cato

I had spent the honeymoon of a lifetime with the only man for me... And I had enjoyed every single second of it. Peeta constantly evolved each place we went to....he was peaceful while taking green tea in a Zen garden of sand and harmony, he was giggly in Istanbul over lamb and couscous and was in a spending mood in Jerusalem's many roadside shopsb buying loads of souvenirs. A more serious mood was in place though at the religious sites there and especially at Petra and the Taj Mahal, where he cried over the beauty of those places....those beautiful and perfect places.

Clay and Courtney had been doing a lot better while we were gone....rumor had it that she was now seeing Mia, my study hall partner, and that he was seeing Gloss.....I couldn't wait to get home to see them.

I heard that Clove hadn't been feeling too good lately, and all I could hope for was that she was alright. As for Johanna, she had been running the bakery with her sister Erodaria. Apparently they were doing rather successful because the bakery was now packed out the doors. A lot of it had to do with Katniss' coffee shop next door.

Katniss Everdeen inherited one thing from her parents well....a genuine love for herbs and plants. And she put this to great use at the coffeeshop, mixing herbal oils with coffee and all of that fun stuff.

I, however, wanted to find something that could make me happy, but I knew not what that could be.....
