Once she had returned home, Jeanne began folding her clothes and putting them away. She paused as she noticed a white, flowy skirt. As she began to pull it out of the pile she found out that it was dress. The dress was plain white with spaghetti straps. She gazed at it, it seemed beautiful despite it's simple pattern.

She heard knocking on her door, and quickly put it away in one of her drawers. "Come in." She noticed that her voice was shaking slightly.

Abigail walked into her room, briefly glancing at Jeanne sitting on the floor putting away her clothes. She sat on the edge of her bed and looked at her sister.

"Jeanne." She spoke sternly, which surprised Jeanne causing her to look at her sister. "I'm no longer in highschool to help you out. Sam is a senior but he does his own thing. You and I both know that he really doesn't care for us, but I need you to promise me something." As she kept talking, Jeanne's gaze drifted to the window and began thinking about the second oldest sibling of her family; Sam. Sam was the typical jock, he was quarterback on the football team and he partied on a regular basis. He had made it clear last year that he really didn't care for Abby and her. That they were just a nuisance to him, him having to always watch out for them, as he claimed during their fight a week ago.

"Sam! Throw the football you little chicken!" Abigail shouted at him with her arms raised above her head. Jeanne was doubled over laughing next to her as she began to get irritated with Sam. He always wanted to throw the ball perfectly at them, sometimes aiming lower on purpose, just to make sure they were paying attention. When he threw the ball finally, Abigail caught it laughing, but her laugh stopped when a car pulled next to the curb and called out to Sam.

"Hey Sam! I see you're playing kid games again." A guy that Jeanne recognized as one of Sam's friends leaned out the window. "You should ditch those losers and come party with us! We know that you won't be bored to death there like you are here humoring these nerds." He began to laugh obnoxiously.

"Why don't you shut your fucking mouth, dick!" Abigail shouted at them, walking towards them her hands balled into fists. The guy looked at her and flipped her, but before she could do anything they drove off, laughing. She turned towards Sam.

"Why didn't you say anything!! You should have stuck up for us!" Practically screaming at him, she walked over to him. Jeanne just stood back, unsure of the situation. Sam looked down at his sister, and sneered at her.

"You know what? I'm done playing with you guys. I'm going to be senior this year. You guys are just dragging me down. Honestly even though you two are family you guys are just stupid and immature. It's irritating. I always have to stick up for you two when people talk about you guys at school. They always call you a bitch, Abigail and they always say that Jeanne is a hopeless loser." He looked at them with anger in his eyes, Jeanne took a step back, her eyes watering. Abigail looked back at Jeanne and then slapped Sam.

"You only have to deal with us until you graduate, asshole." Abigail spoke through gritted teeth. She was already working full time, Sundays and Wednesdays were her days off. She was working towards an apartment while she stayed home. Sam had gotten the easiest ride; a full scholarship to his college of choice, housing included.

After that they hadn't really talked to Sam since then. He completely ignored them after the fight.

"Jean! I'm talking to you." Abigail clapped her hands together snapping Jeanne out of her daydream. She looked at Abigail, encouraging her to go on.

Abigail sighed before continuing, "I need you to promise me that you won't take shit from anyone, ok?" Jeanne nodded quickly, and Abigail looked at her and smiled.
