His lips pressed softly against hers. Kissing Josh wasn't like it was with Brayden, for some reason her mind blanked on how to kiss. Slowly he moved his lips against hers, and she moved hers against his. They soon moved in sync.
Josh pulled away slowly but instead of sitting back down he continued to lean over the table, resting their foreheads together. Jean watched him breathlessly as a slow smile crept onto her face.
"That was...nice." Her voice came out as just a whisper. Her stomach was doing front flips and she could still feel the lingering affect of his lips on hers. Reaching up, Jean unconsciously touched her lips lightly with her fingers.
Gaze drifting up she met Josh's eyes, but instead of looking at her he was watching her fingers touch her mouth.
"Does this mean that.... We're something?" Jean gulped visibly, fearing the answer.
Josh leaned back in his chair, and smiled at her. "We've always been something. I was just too stupid to realize it." Butterflies filled her stomach at his answer.
Silence settled around them, she looked out the window and heard Josh shuffle out of his seat and towards her. His hand lightly tugged at hers that rested on her lap, and then she got out of the chair letting him lead her out of the store.
They reached his truck and he led her over to the passenger side, opening the door for her. As she was about to hop in he quickly snaked his arms around her waist and lifted her into the truck.
Jean's breath caught in her throat as she felt herself being lifted up.
Settling back into the seat, she looked down at Josh and was surprised to see that his cheeks were reddened. Stifling a giggle, she watched as he closed the door and made his way around the truck to the driver's side.
As he got in, she watched as his muscles worked when he pulled himself up. Once settled in, Josh looked at her, and raised an eyebrow.
"Like what you see, Jean?"
"You tell me." She muttered, staring at the dashboard as he backed out of the parking spot.
They drove in silence for a few minutes until she finally spoke up. "Where are we going?" She glanced over at him.
He kept his eyes on the road but he still answered, "I can't tell you that."
She rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything else.

By the time they reached their destination, the sun was beginning to set. Josh turned down a dirt road, then putting his truck into four wheel drive, he went off of the road and drove onto the uneven ground of the field that surrounded them.
"Are you going to kill me?" Jean bit her lip nervously, taking in their surroundings. Her hand would fly to the door handle everytime the truck bounced as it hit a hole.
Josh laughed at her question, and then the truck came to a slow stop. Putting it into park, he turned towards her and smiled brightly. Without saying anything, he jumped out of the truck. Then he walked over to her side, opening the door. He reached out and grabbed her hand, letting Jean use it as support while she got out of the tall truck.
Once out, Josh wrapped an arm around her waist leading her to the back of the truck. Pulling down the tailgaite, he hopped onto it and then pulled her up with him.
"This is where I come to think." As he said this, Jean followed his gaze to where he was looking and her breath caught in her throat. It was absolutely beautiful. The field was perfectly highlighted by the orange sunset that glowed in the sky. The few clouds in the sky were highlighted and shown a bright pink.
"This is beautiful.." Her voice trailed off as she looked out at the horizon. She felt an arm wrap around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him. Sighing, she leaned into Josh, resting her head on his shoulder. His other hand picked up hers and intertwined their fingers together.
Jean looked down at their hands, amazed at how well they fit eachother. Her's wasn't too small or big, but just right. Josh's hand was big and strong, fitting around hers like a glove.
"Isn't it crazy that until 24 hours ago I was angry at you?" She looked up at him admiring the way his jaw moved as he began to speech.
"Yeah it is. I'm just so happy you forgave me." He leaned over and buried his face in her neck, inhaling the scent of her hair. Jean sighed, closing her eyes.

"CHILLIN', BREEZIN', SIPPIN', SINGIN' WHOAAAA. BEACHIN'." Jean yelled out the lyrics, knowing that the radio drowned them out. Her and Josh were driving back into town when Jean asked to turned up the radio and roll down all the windows. It was nighttime and they had stayed out there for several hours.
Jean's hair whipped around her face, but she just ignored it. She was living on cloud nine right now; the most perfect guy had kissed her, they were now dating and already had their first semi-date which was just amazing.
Life couldn't get any better.
