27 hours later...

Jennifer was one of the few scientists left at the CDC. Along with Lance for the past 5 years she'd been studying the virus that killed Andrea and her husband, Milo. She stood inside a room sealed up tight so the virus couldn't escape. As with nearly the whole world, she was aware of what was to happen. Jen was experimenting on infected meat. She had it in a little round, glass case. She picked it up and was going to examine it under a microscope, but accidentally dropped it. Jennifer knelt down to clean the mess but cut her suit on the broken glass.

"Crap!" She said and ran into the next room where the walls sprayed her as she took off the suit. She exited the cleaning area and a robotic voice came on the microphone "Virus extermination begin" Jennifer turned around and tried running back to her experiments and the room set fire "Noooo!" She cried. "Virus extermination cleared" the voice said. Lance ran into the room "What the hell happened?!" He asked. Jen sat, getting teary. "An accident happened and the room was cleared.... its... it's Clear." She said.

"All of our work for five years is gone..." Jen complained. Lance slowly began to laugh in an outburst. Jennifer stared at him blankly. "Sorry," he said "I just find it kind of funny, that the world is going to end in 21 hours and you care about a cure for a plague that essentially ended 5 years ago?" Jen nodded. "I've lost my mind." She smiled and began laughing too. "We should get shitfaced drunk tonight." Lance said after a long laughter break.

5 hours later...

"And then, the damn water flooded the bathroom!" Jennifer cackled, she and Lance were drunk off tequila. "A lotta people say you shouldn't get drunk but tequila is the answer to everything." Lance said and drank a little more. They heard footsteps... then, clapping? "Congratulations you stupid idiots you've wasted 5 more hours of your lives!" It was Lex, Charlotte, his newly wedded wife followed him. "We've been trying to call you all day. We need to all get into a bunker, especially you two, you're important people." Charlotte said "I thought you were still on your honeymoon." Lance said, trying to stand.

"Dude!! You're drunk!" Lex exclaimed. "No you're drunk!" Jen shouted and threw an empty bottle at Lex, who ducked in time. She cackled evilly. "How did you even get in here?" Lance asked. "Char can hack and pick locks. Now it's time to go." Lex said and lifted Jennifer out of her seat and began carrying her out. "Strong boy. Andrea did well raising you." She smiled. Lex rolled his eyes. Charlotte helped Lance walk outside, where they all got in the car and drove in the direction of Mount Chamber, where the WinterCell bunker was built inside.
