Ilian stood at the doors of the basement of his institute, welcoming his workers, soldiers and board members into ANE's personal bunker. "We will rise." He said quietly and waving his hand. After a short while everyone was inside. Ilian followed and closed the hatch behind him and pulled a lever to airlock it. He took a fireaxe off the wall and cut the lever down so no one could open the bunker. The man began making his was to the control room and typed in codes and encryption's. "And... time to send E.T.H.R." He pressed the classical big red button. "The Beginning of the End." Ilian whispered and sat up.
Inside the WinterCell bunker Paige spoke to her board members. "Look, with the amount of people, food, water and oxygen we will never survive. Which is why I've come up with a plan. We have this old machine inside this bunker. We can perform radiation tests on the unuseful and resource consuming young, and inside the machine they could pass, but if they survive, we put them outside and see for ourselves. We could be out of this place and back in the world in a year. This process won't be pretty, but it's how the human race survives." There were agreeable murmurs around the table.
Magna sat at the large, prison-style cafeteria along with Chester, Lex and Charlotte. "Hopefully Paige will figure us something out to-" Chester began but was cut off by a loud boom. Molly was with Henry in their own mini-apartment. It was the living quarters of the back up plan if the pods failed. "Henry cover your ears, it's starting." She said to her son. "No mom... I'm just fine." He replied with an assuring look. There was a small Television up in the corner next to the door, it showed a wave passing through the city until the camera recording it lost connection. "Don't watch then." Molly said.
TV screens lit up everywhere, showing different cities being destroyed, all starting with loud booming noises. Magna stood, looking at a screen showing London. "He actually did it..." She said, referring to Ilian. Charlotte looked to her. "How the hell are we getting out of this alive. Lex held her hand. "Nobody knows." He said. Meanwhile in ANE's luxury bunker, Ilian stood to speak to all his people at the Center. "The process to cleanse the world will take a week at most. The bombs are deployed, the Radiation has to settle. Eventually there will be no one left but us and the ten worldwide bunkers of ten thousand each. If I could destroy those too I would but it is out of my power. The only thing I could do was drain the energy out of their freeze pods. They'll all be dead in two years. We win." He announced. There was cheering among the crowd.
In the city, Barbara waited, looking out the window of the day-care. There was only one child left. Hannah from Molly's second grade class. "Shhh Hannah it's okay. Your parents just couldn't get here in time. They love you. I love you sweet child." Barb said, caressing her. "Are we gonna die?" Hannah asked. "Hush don't think about that now. We're going to heaven. God is going to bring us to his beautiful kingdom. We'll be in a better place and you'll get to see your mom and dad." Barb said looking up at the sky. The deathwave went past them, breaking their skin and turning bloody. Deforming their bodies making strange scars. "Goodbye." Barbara struggled to say.
