Chapter 21
The wait seemed like forever to me. Well, not really, considering I had two twin girls to keep me company, along with Niall’s brother who kept asking me if I “had any other sisters as hot as myself.” To which, I politely declined. It was flattering though, to say the least. Phoebe and Daisy were fighting for my attention the entire time, to which I gladly dealt with. They reminded me of my younger brother, the one who I couldn’t remember, but Liam had told me that he looked a lot like me. I remember the night Liam had told me anything, I cried silently while he held me. It wasn’t sad because I had lost them, but it was sad that I couldn’t even remember them. I wish I could have remembered them, remembered the memories we had together.
The twins also reminded me of how much I couldn’t wait to get married and have kids. Yes, I was only nineteen years old, and I should be thinking about having fun, instead of worrying about my future. But honestly, with almost three life or death situations, it makes you mature as a person. It makes you see things differently and appreciate the things you have. I guess that’s another perk about getting into the singing industry. You learn very quickly that you have to mature in this industry. I remember distinctly Harry relaying this same thing to me. He had to grow up faster than he had expected, but that was one of the small prices you paid to be famous, and do what you love doing every single day.
“Bella, will you please braid my hair?” Phoebe asked me with wide, innocent eyes.
Daisy turned to glare at her sister, but in the next second, she was giving me her famous puppy dog face. “Bella! Do mine too! Mine too!” She cried, grabbing onto my arm and tugging on it slightly.
“One at a time girls. Daisy, I will braid yours as soon as I’m done with Phoebe’s, okay?” I told her with a slightly stern expression.
She smiled back at me happily. “Okay! I can wait.”
I heard Mrs. Tommo chuckle at me.”I just don’t understand how you get them to behave so nicely.” She said with a bemused expression.
“I honestly have no clue either.” I replied while beginning to braid Phoebe’s hair.
As I was braiding, I watched the interactions of the families around me. You could easily tell that both the Horan and Malik family were a bit at odds with the rest. Not because of any particular reason, but probably because they lived the farthest away from the others. Despite the closeness I’ve experienced, I had yet had time to speak with Niall’s family, other than his brother. I kept glancing their way, but they ignored me, or it appeared that way. I wonder what all Niall had told them? Maybe, they were just as nervous as I was. That, or Niall didn’t even bother telling his parents about me. That thought made me want to cry, but it would be extremely weird if I did, so I swallowed the tears down, pushing that thought far from my mind. I was seeing the boys today and I knew I was going to cry like a baby already, I didn’t need to add more tears to that.
I turned to look at my mom, who was chatting Anne’s ear off. “Mum, when do the boys get here?” I asked her as I continued to artfully braid Phoebe’s hair.
“In about ten minutes.” She said with a smile, then turned back to Anne, still talking animatedly about who knows what.
