Chapter 18

(Niall POV)

"When will she wake up?" I asked the doctor as he glanced over Bella's charts.

The doctor and I had become fast friends. Well, acquaintances, really. Plus, I had asked him loads of questions, and I think his heart went out to me. I mean, I did go into sort of a seizure when we first arrived. After I noticed that the entire bottom of my shirt and top of my pants were covered in Bella's blood. I hadn't even noticed she had been bleeding until than. I didn't take it too well. They had to drug me to get ne to settle down.

He sighed deeply, his eyes raking over the charts. He turned, gave me a sad smile, and responded, "Whenever she wants too."

"What do you mean?" I asked him again, worry etched in my face.

He hadn't given me this response before. It had always been, "We just have to wait.", or, "I think in a few days."

Now, I was utterly confused.

"Well, right now, she's in good condition, and he surgery was a complete success." He replied. "However, her brain shut down, probably to block out the pain. So, whenever her body feels ready, she will wake up."

I sighed loudly, my shoulders sagging with the weight of almost losing her, again. "Thank you doctor." I said, turning my gaze to the pale form that was hooked up to numerous tubes.

He nodded his head and walked out of the room, the door clicking shut softly. I groaned as my stomach growled, the hunger causing it to twist painfully. I hadn't eaten a proper meal in two weeks. I hadn't taken a shower for a while now, either. My hair was in a row with itself, tangled and messy, but not in the attractive way. I knew I had heavy bags under my eyes.I hadn't slept properly in two weeks. Two weeks was how long Bella had been in this state.

A coma.

Tears welled in my eyes as I stared at her body, willing her eyes to open. Willing for her to move, just even an inch. She hadn't even done that. Two weeks I've been praying for a miracle. From the doctors words, I knew she was suppose to have woken up by now. Why wasn't she? Why wouldn't she come back to me, to the world? Why?

However, after two weeks of willing, my faith was fading, fast. I had to be strong though. For her. She needed me now. I never left this spot, only to use the bathroom, and even that was a complete torture for me. My biggest fear; she would wake up, and I wouldn't be there.

I heard the door click open and I turned to see Liam walk in, bring Nandos with him. My mouth immediately began to drop as the aroma hit my nose. He held it out to me, and I grabbed it roughly, opening the bag and taking out a box of chicken. I began stuffing my face with the sweet, delicious goodness, moaning whenever I swallowed a chunck.

Loan chuckled at me, sitting down in the seat next to me. "Hungry?" He asked me with a smirk.

I nodded my head as I continued to munch on the food. My body was thanking me, and I felt myself become full of energy the more I ate. When I was done, I rubbed my protruding belly and groaned.

"Thanks mate." I told Liam as he watched me in amusement.

"No problem. The boys and I have been a bit worried about you." He said, his tone turning serious. Typical Liam Payne.

I down casted my eyes. "I understand."

"I don't think you really do." He said, causing me to stare at him in shock. "We're all worried sick, not just about Bella, but about you. You've stopped eating, sleeping, anything most normal people would do. It's not healthy."
