5 hours later
I heard keys in the door then foot steps in the living room. I ran down the stairs to meet my father.
"Hey, dad."
*grunts
"Do you know what today is?" I asked.
"No.What is today?"
"You have to guess." I giggled.
"Tia. what the hell do you want? I don't feel like playing games with you." he yelled. "just tell me what today is."
"My birthday." I flashed a huge smile.
"oh. why should I care?" he scowled.
"because your my dad and your supposed to."
"oh really." he laughs. "Did you care when your mother died trying to hurry and get to your recital?"
A tear flowed down my cheek. "dad. you said so yourself. it wasn't my fault."
"I didn't want to hurt your feelings. but it is all your fault. now get your ass in your room." he yelled with so much hatred in his voice.
I ran upstairs and slammed my room door behind me.
"I hate you!!!" I yelled. "I wish mom was here."
