JEWEL POV:
David sighs and leans back almost like he's heard enough. "You've been caught before..."
I raise my eyebrow. "Have we?..." I look at my mother before realisation came to me. "Ah yes, when we tried to kill Snow. There's a difference between then and now. Then, we were actually trying to kill Snow for what she did, now, we are innocent and didn't kill Archie"
Regina locks eyes with David for a moment and David looks at his daughter. "Come on Emma who do you think is lying? Ruby? or them?" I sigh and lean back into my chair. "They're incapable of change no matter how many times we've given them the chance." He get's in our faces and I gag...somebody needs a breath mint. "Why should this time be any different?"
We both glare at him as the memory of him trying to execute us comes to mind.
Flashback: Enchanted Forest. Before the dark curse:
Many people of the Kingdom move out of the way as me and my mother are lead into the main courtyard by Snow's and Charming's guards for our execution. We wore simple gray gowns that fell to our feet and a darker colored cloak. Our hair was pushed back into a bobble at the back our necks and we wore little makeup. Never, in my life, had I been in the most awful clothes ever.
Our hands are tied to wooden posts and I allow myself not to look at anyone, not wanting to give them the satisfaction of seeing my regret. If only we had managed to kill Snow before she had met her Prince and taken over the Kingdom...if we had done it back when she was on the run we won't be standing here right now and Snow's head will be hanging on our wall.
I'm surprised how many people have come to witness this...I suppose people really do hate us for what we've done. Not like I care. The only thing that worries me is the fact my Grandpa is in the audience and no Grandpa should see his only daughter and granddaughter die. My heart clenches at the thought.
Suddenly, the green cricket hovers in front of us and I swear if my hands weren't tied behind my back, I would have swatted the damn thing away. I hate bugs.
"Regina, Jewel, this is your opportunity to meet your ends with a clear conscience. Do you have any last words?" He says to the both of us.
I shake my head pursing my lips. "Nope, I don't think I do" I look at the crowd. "Well...none of them are appropriate for young ears anyway" I chuckle. "Sorry Grandpa"
Grandpa visited us in our shared cell not long before and begged us to plead for mercy and hope they might let us go. But, we both disagreed. I don't lie and I won't plead mercy. That's for sure.
My mother, however, nods. "Yes. Yes, I do" I glance at her in confusion...is she seriously going to beg? The cricket flies away giving my mother the spotlight. "I know we're being judged for our past. A past where we've caused pain, a past where we've inflicted misery, a past where we've even brought death. But when I look back at everything we've done, I want you all to know, what I feel. And what my daughter feels. And that is, regret." Is she actually serious? Mother! " Regret that we was not able to cause more pain, inflict more misery, and bring about more death. And above all of else with every ounce of our beings, we regret that we was not able to kill SNOW WHITE!"
That's more like it! Gasps of horror were heard around the courtyard and I smirk and raise my head. "What she said" I grin and scan the crowd one more time but a pair of blue eyes make my grin fall from my lips. "Killian..." What is he doing here?
