Regina's Jewel

Chapter One:

When Regina Mills fell pregnant with her first child, she was happy, excited but also scared. Having a baby out of wedlock is strictly out of bounds and should never happen, and having a baby with the man she knew her mother wouldn't approve off, was even worse. She knew she could never get rid or give up that child, her child. Not after wanting it for so long, and now it's finally happening and with the man, she truly loved so there was no chance in hell she was throwing it away. No, she knew she had to keep it a secret from everybody except the father.

Daniel Colter. 

Daniel who like Regina was thrilled with the news but was also scared for their child's fate. He quickly agreed to keep their child a secret until they both knew it was safe for them to reveal their child to everyone. Luckily for Regina, as her pregnancy advanced she showed no signs and barely got a baby bump so no one knew she was expecting. She stayed around the stables where Daniel worked near her due date so when the baby does come, they would be out of prying eyes. 

On October 2nd a beautiful baby girl was born in the stables to two very happy parents. Regina named her Jewel claiming that the young child was her precious Jewel. Daniel decided her middle name should be Rose as she was a delicate but just as beautiful as one. And that's how Jewel Rose Mills had gotten her name. 

Keeping Jewel a secret from everyone was easier than they thought. Regina's mother hardly came to the stables where Daniel worked or lived so Jewel was allowed to walk freely inside his home and stables. Regina would visit any chance she got and every time her eyes laid on her beautiful daughter, her love grew and so did the passion for leaving. Jewel had light brown hair with dark roots that matched both her mother and father, she had Regina's brown eyes but Daniel's nose. She was the perfect mix between them both and was simply beautiful. Everything was perfect for the little family. 

But their happiness didn't last long. 

Jewel (who was at this point five years old) watched in horror from behind a stable, as the woman Regina called mother, ripped her father's heart and squeezed it to dust. She held back the scream that was bubbling in her throat and held back the urge to run forward to him. Tears fell from her eyes as she watched her mother cradled her dead love in her arms. 

"How did you find out about this?" Regina asked through tears. "I've been careful for years"

"That is not important" Cora had no emotion in her voice. "What is important is making you Queen and that wouldn't have happened if you stayed with him"

"I love him and I don't want to become Queen! That's what you want!"

Cora laughed. "No dear, you've got it all wrong. I just want to give you the life I never had"

"I don't want your life mother! I have my own!"

"Don't be silly child, you don't have a life. But, don't worry that's what I'm here for" Cora held out her hand. "Now, dry those tears and come with me. You have lots to learn before the wedding"

Regina glared at her mother, shoved her hand away before standing up. "Not only have you killed my true love but you have also made a child fatherless"

"What do you mean?" Cora asked in confusion

"Not only have I been keeping Daniel a secret from you mother" She spat. "I have been keeping something else from you- our daughter"

Cora's eyes flashed both confusion and anger as she stared at her daughter. Thoughts ran through her mind like someone was running a marathon up there. "Don't lie to me"

"Oh, I'm not lying" Regina turned to the space where she knew Jewel was hiding. "Jewel sweetie, come here"

Jewel slowly poked her head around the corner, only her face was visible and the big bow on her head. Even from afar, you could tell that she was Regina's and Cora gasped. Regina held out her and this time Jewel ran forward and grabbed her mother's hand before hiding behind her legs, her white dress moving with every step she took.

"Mother, meet your granddaughter Jewel Rose"

Cora's eyes never left Jewel. "Can't say I'm surprised. I just hope the King will understand"

"There's nothing to understand. I am not marrying him" Regina went to walk out of the door but Cora's magic stopped her. Jewel screamed. 

"You will marry the King otherwise I'll kill Jewel"

And that was the beginning of the Evil Queen and the Dark Princess.
