Jane's origin part 2

Red skull woke up for the third time that night to the sound of Jane's hungry cries. He looked at the clock beside his bed and sighed for the clock read 12:00am. He got up from his bed and walked sleepily towards the crib and picked up the screaming child. General Strucker had told him before that a baby her age needs to be fed every two hours and that he should get used to getting up through the night. He went into his personal kitchen and got out an already prepared bottle that he just needed to heat up, he placed the bottle in a saucepan filled with water that was on the stove and turned on the heat. After the water had boiled he turned off the heat and let a drop of the milk drip on his wrist to test the heat, satisfied that it wasn't too hot he sat on the rocking chair Strucker gave him and rocked while he fed her. He tried to stay awake but it was getting quite hard, he was glad when she was finished and was burped, now all he had to do was get her back to sleep. He gently and slowly rocked in the chair and found that he was even falling asleep, he wrapped a blanket around them so that she didn't fall out of his arms as they both gently fell asleep.

The next day

Strucker came around to check on Red skull since he wasn't yet used to his new lifestyle, he knocked on the door and received a faint voice calling out to him to enter the room. He opened the door and found Red skull trying to clip the belt for her high chair onto her, he looked very tired. Red skull looked at Strucker with weary eyes and tried a smile, Strucker shook his head playfully. "Rough night last night skull?" he said and got a tired nod in reply. He walked up to Red skull and motioned him to sit down, seeing his confused look he smiled at the tired man. "I'll feed the child, you get some rest. Your body isn't used to getting up so many times and until it is i think it's best if i feed her in the morning." Red skull was a bit on edge with allowing Strucker with the child but he knew that the man knew what he was doing and he trusted Strucker with his life. He lied on his black couch in the living area and drifted off to sleep while Strucker was dealing with the worst child he ever had to care for. As soon as Red skull left the room Jane began to get upset, Strucker gave her a smile hoping that it would help her feel better but he was wrong! He tried to give her her bottle but she spat the milk right back into his face and if she had any teeth she could have seriously hurt him from her biting, it still hurt but at least she didn't draw blood! "What the hell child!? Why don't you act up when Red skull feeds you!?" All he got in response was a spit in the eye and she began to scream! He tried to calm her down but it was too late. Red skulls eyes snapped open and he raced into the kitchen to find Strucker wrestling with her to get the bottle into her mouth, the moment she caught sight of Red skull though she calmed down and took the bottle! Strucker looked at his leader in astonishment. "How is she so strong? And why did she chuck such a huge fit?" He got no response from his leader but what could he tell him? How could he tell him what happened to her? He walked up to Jane and took her into his arms for she had torn apart the belt in her fit. She laughed in his arms as he took her to the couch and bounced her gently on his knee to make her laugh more.

Later that morning Strucker brought Red skull the last of the baby toys and objects that he had for Red skull to use. The first thing he put her in was a little bouncing chair, she seemed to enjoy it as her unusually strong legs helped her stand up a bit in the chair. There were shining buttons and lights and each button made a different sound and made the lights shine in patterns. "You know Red skull, if you say a word over and over again it her she will learn how to say it." Strucker said as he set up the walker for when they are to go to the inspection in an hour, Red skull changed the time of the inspection to get himself and Jane ready. Jane laughed and squealed in delight as she played with the buttons and the sounds were very loud. "When we go to the inspection there are to be no batteries in the power board." Red skull said to Strucker and he nodded to the leader, he knew that the last thing he needs is to look like a fool because his adopted child is making loud noises.

The inspection went on like it usually does, except for the fact that Red skull had to carry Jane in his arms most of the time because she was getting a bit whiny about not being with him. Some of the soldiers snickered but made sure that they didn't do it in front of him or when he was in hearing range. After the inspection he took Jane to Dr Zola so that he can give her her immunization she is due for, he mostly wanted to know why she was constantly clinging onto him. He entered the Medical ward and found General Strucker with Dr Zola, he looked like he was going to be sick. Red skull just walked up to them both and tried once again to hand her over to the doctor but they got the exact same result from the last time. Strucker gave a slight smile trying to hide his dismay. "Looks like she has already gotten to the clingy stage, that's one of the hardest habits to get out of a child." he said as he went to tickle the child but she gave him such an evil look that he immediately withdrew his hand in fright, after what happened this morning hr didn't want to see what else this kid can do. Red skull just nodded at the General and ignored his sudden reaction to the child, he allowed the doctor to  give her the needle and found that he was watching the doctors every move as he did his job. He wondered to himself why he was doing this, why did every sight of her being in pain make him cringe? How has this child changed him this much? "Looks like the Red Skull doesn't have a heart of stone after all." he shuddered at this voice, he knew all to well who it belonged to and didn't need to turn around to see the HYDRA slut Mother Night!
