Gods and Angels

West Wing
We all stood looking at the shimmer of a portal in the hall,
"Go" whispered the voice.
"Who needs to go" Boreas asked, we had got so used to the voice now.
"All, the god of gods requests you all"
Shaking his head, Attis took a step towards the portal then stopped "I don't like this what if something happens to Nettie"
"Answers" whispered the voice
"Gods, there better be answers" and with that Attis stepped through the portal, the rest of us following.
The portal took us to Olympus, to Zeus's open door where he was waiting.
East Wing
After Leisel left I wandered out to the garden, wanting to sit in the sun to understand everything she had told me. The prophecy seemed to infer we would have choices to make and thinking of the boys I hoped I did not have to choose between them, that the choice was something less personal. When they were just from my imagination I could have them all, each one of them touched my heart in a different way I was not sure I could choose one over another, I spent time with all of them together and individually.
Gods, I missed them.

A scrunching of gravel behind the hedge made me look round, was Leto or Leisel back? The hairs on the back of my neck rose and I quietly moved to peer round the hedge.
A black van was parked with the rear doors open, two men wearing black masks heading towards the front of the house, I pulled back hiding and reached into my pocket, gods I had left my phone inside, I remembered leaving it on the kitchen table, I needed to get it to call for help.
I crept along the hedge line, carefully watching for the men before dashing to the kitchen door. I grabbed my phone and called Leisel.
"Serenity." She answered.
"Leisel there is someone here at the house" I whisper into the phone.
"Hide, I will call the police, hide and stay hidden till we get there, Serenity do you hear me, hide, now"
"Yes"
Outside, I was safer outside, I crept back out and into the garden, keeping low I used the hedges to cover me and I ran through the gardens towards the maze, where I could hide but be within sight of the house for when the police came.
As I watched the two men emerge from the kitchen door, one of them holding something in their hand, a book?, as they approached the van another man got out, I gasped recognising the posture, the professor, what was he doing here, I watched as he took the book, flipping through the pages before slipping it into his pocket and looking round.
I moved back fearing he would see me, peaking back to seeing him talking to the men gesturing with his hands before they all climbed back into the van and left.
I stayed hiding in the garden till Leisel's car arrived followed by a police car.
Giving the police my statement about what and who I saw, I started checking the house, I realised the family history book was gone, Leisel confirmed that books were also taken from the library break in, she agreed to get the professors details from the library and pass them to the police so they could follow up.

I went with Leisel to the library not wanting to be at home alone. The police car followed us to the town then peeled off towards the station.
"What do you think he wants" I asked Leisel
"I don't know child, I wish I could see, but the goddess directs my visions and she knows nothing of this"
I shivered as we enter the library, feeling that the sanctuary has been breached, dirtied since the break in.
Leisel went to her office while I checked the messages at the desk, I jumped as I heard a muffled thud, rushing to the office, I spotted Leisel laying on the floor "Leisel" I called dropping to my knees next to her "Leisel, can you hear me" she was out cold a red mark on the side of her head.
I felt a body move behind me but before I could react I hand had placed a foul smelling rag over my face and everything went black.
Olympus
We followed Zeus to his office.
"Sit" he directed and we sat and waited for him to start.
"We need to talk about Serenity, things have come to light that change everything for her and she is in danger"
"What's happened, what danger?" Mor's asked leaning forward.
Zeus looked at us and swallowed looking unsure as to where to start.
"I know my mother is helping you now on Earth, and you will need her help to keep Serenity safe" he sighed heavily. "Serenity is my daughter" he raised his eyes to us, "I didn't know about her till today, I met her this morning when she dream walked to the temple, my mother confirmed it"
"Nettie is a Demi god, cool but how does that put her in danger" Pan asked watching Zeus.
"She's not just a Demi god, she is the last surviving heir of Gabriel's bloodline, she's part angel" he whispered.
We looked at Zeus with our mouths open.
"Angel" Helios muttered
"Does she know" Erebus asked Zeus.
"Yes, she was told the truth this morning about her family and I am sure by now she has worked out about me, she is very clever, my daughter" he sounded proud.
"ZEUS" a woman's panicked voice shouted before the door burst open revealing the Goddess Leto, we bowed our heads.
"Someone's taken her" she cried falling into Zeus's arms.
We surged to our feet "what happened" crowding round.
"The was a break in at the house, Leisel and Serenity went to the library to get the police some information and Leisel was knocked out and Serenity taken"
"Who would take her and why" Pan demanded.
"Her angel blood is strong, We think hunters have her, we must save her before..." she trailed off.
"Before what" Erebus asked the question none of us wanted to know the answer to.
"They will drain her, her angel blood is valuable, this would normally kill her but with her god blood she will not die easily, there has never been a angel god child so we don't know how this will effect her" Zeus told us.
"Can you track her" Attis asked pacing the room
"No, her angel side shields her" Leto replied
"Send us back" Mor's told Zeus, "these hunters are human, we will track them down and get Nettie back, they have no powers but we do and we will find her"
A portal shimmered behind us before Mor's finished asking
"It will take you to the library, you may find a trail to follow" Leto told us.
"How long have they been gone" Pan asked before we went through.
"Thirty minutes, so not long" she replied.
Nodding we went through the portal.
Earth
I came to in the back of a van, my hands and feet tied and tape over my mouth, I looked round me the van was dark but I was alone, I could hear voices behind the front wall and feel the vibrations of the vans engine as it drove.
I tested my bonds glad that they had tied my hands in front of me, reaching up I pulled off the tape, grimacing at the pain.
The van rocked to a halt and I heard doors slamming then footsteps, I froze, then the muffled voice of the professor "get the altar ready first, she'll be out for a couple of hours with that drug, lock the van and lets go"
The footsteps retreated "gods if they were getting an altar ready that was not good, all horror stories ended with a sacrifice and I didn't want to be one. I felt around for something sharp needing to cut the bonds, wishing my boys were here.

Leisel was waiting for us as we came through the portal, her head wrapped In a white bandage.
We surrounded her as she told us about the professor and what had happened, she described the van and gave us the professors mobile number.
I looked at Helios who nodded.
"We need a local map" I told Leisel who grabbed one off the display and opened it on the table.
Helios took out his phone and entered the number with one hand while holding another over the map, we didn't need to hack the gps as Helios's power could do it for us, as long as the professor hadn't ditched his phone this would work even if it was turned off.
We watched quietly, impatient to get going but knowing this could take a few minutes.
"Here" he stopped his hand over the map, we looked closely Temple Mine.
"How far to here" I asked Leisel
"Twenty minutes by car, but only my car is here it won't take all of you, I can get another car to give us a lift, but it will take a little while"
"Mor's, Pan, Helios come with me, Leisel can you get Attis and Erebus back to the house, grab the cars and kit and meet us as soon as you can" I directed.
Leisel threw me her keys "gods be with you" she said turning away to call for another car.
Helios directed me as we raced through the town towards the mine.
"nearly there, just round the next bend" he told me, "pull off here and we go in on foot"
I parked the car off the road and we followed Mor's through the undergrowth "there's the van, no one around"
We passed silently and moved into the open doorway, I could hear voices further in and signalling the others we carefully moved down the tunnel, keeping in the shadows as the tunnel opened into a large cavern.
Two men were setting up an altar surrounded by candles and medical equipment for drawing blood. There was no sign of Nettie.
A cough behind us had us swinging round to be faced with a gun "who are you" the man asked gesturing for us to move out into the cavern.
"Just out for a stroll and got lost, came to ask for directions to town" Pan replied glibly.
The two other men had come to join him each producing a gun to point at us.
"Tie them up, I don't know where they came from but it's bad timing on their part." The leader told them.
With guns trained on us we stood as one man tied us up before pushing us down onto the ground.
"Right, now get the girl" the leader told the shorter man who went back up the tunnel towards the entrance.
"Gods, we passed her" Mor's muttered.

My wrists were bleeding by the time I had got through the ropes, I quickly undid my ankles and stood up, stretching.
I tensed as I heard footsteps coming closer, I grabbed the rope and got ready.
The door opened and a man put his head in looking about, taking my chance I wrapped the rope around his neck and pulled, unbalancing him and making him fall forward striking his head against the van wall and knocking him out.
I tensed waiting for one of the others to appear but it was quiet, I pulled the rope off his neck and tied his hands behind his back before wrestling his body into the van and shutting the door, creeping round the van I ran for the undergrowth and away from the mine, just outside the gates I spotted a car hidden in the undergrowth, Leisel's car, was she here, I needed to find her.
I turned and made my way back to the mine and silently went inside, keeping to the shadows i inched closer, scanning the room, I saw the professor pacing back and forward and another man holding a gun over a group of men, no sign of Leisel.
My eyes swung back to the men, they looked familiar, my body warmed and I squeezed round the room to get a better view. I gasped my heart pounding when I could see them clearly. Helios, Pan, Boreas and Mor's were tied up but here, here on Earth, where were Attis and Erebus?
"Come out" shouted the professor pointing the gun towards me.
As I stepped forward the boys started struggling to get out of their bonds, "stop or I shoot her" the professor shouted making them still.
"Why are you doing this" I asked him moving further out of the shadows, keeping my eyes on him with difficulty, wanting instead to focus on the boys.
"You are a demon and need to die" he told me.
"You lie, if you just wanted to kill he, you would have done it already" I countered.
He laughed, "so clever, you're right, I want your blood, it powerful, it's valuable and now I know they are with you, I have a lever to make you come to me"
He waved the gun at the boys, "let's play a game, chose one to die" he told me
"I won't let you take any of them"
"You can't stop me" he said pulling the trigger.
My body reacted to the gun shot jumping forward to protect them, I felt a flare of pain across my back and a burning heat in my side. I felt wings unfurl around me as blood dropped from my side where the bullet had hit me not the boys.
The professor fell back horror on his face, "demon" he cried raising the gun again but before he could fire a body tackled him to the ground and the other man dropped his gun and left running up the tunnel.
I watched as Attis knocked out the professor before collapsing. to the ground to the sound of my name being called.
"Nettie!"
