Earth
15th April 2017
The portal opened just outside the town, looking around they made their way towards a cafe, needing to get sorted. The boys arrived and sat down as the waitress came over
"What can I get you guys" she asked looking at us curiously.
"Umm" Boreas started only to be cut off by a woman's voice
"Coffee and a selection of sandwiches please Anna, just bring the pot" said a tall regal woman pulling out a chair to join us.
"Yes ma'am" she replied hurrying off
"Who are you" Mor's asked
"My name is Leisel and I am here to help you, the goddess sent me" she replied looking at us.
"The Leisel who told the prophecy" Attis questioned "why are you here on earth and not at the temple"
She shook her head "the goddess wanted me here, my work for her is here, she is here" she replied
"Who the goddess, here on earth" Pan asked leaning forward.
She held up a hand as the waitress and another approached with a tray of drinks and sandwiches before thanking her. Once we were alone again she started to talk "twenty years ago on the day of the prophecy a girl was born here in Angel Falls, her mother died to keep her safe but not before asking for protection for the child, since then My goddess Leto has raised the child, keeping her safe and away from here, now she has returned and you have followed. The goddess has heard your prayers, she has watched you grow and she wants me to help you"
"Where is Nettie" Mor's demanded standing up.
"Sit down" Leisel said calmly "she is not ready and neither are you yet", to her you are not real, she doesn't know about the prophecy or her part in it, she believes you to be made up, imaginary"
He sat down running hands through his hair, "just tell me she is okay" he asked softly.
Leisel smiled at them "she is well"
Erebus looked at Leisel "what do we need to do, I presume the goddess has a plan"
She pours each of us a drink and offers sandwiches and as we dig in she reaches for her bag.
"The goddess has arranged accommodation for you and everything else you will need her on Earth" she said sliding an envelope onto the table.
She waved her hand towards the window "the red and blue vehicles there are for your use, you do know how to drive?" She queried
"Yes, we know" Pan confirmed
"There is a map inside of the area and to your accommodation, phones for each of you, my number is programmed in and a letter for each of you from the goddess, now enjoy your lunch and learn" with that she left the table.
Xx
We looked at each other before Erebus tips the context of the envelope out, passing each of us our letters, leaving the map and car keys on the table.
As we tear them open a white mist appears and surrounds us, I look round trying to see if anyone's noticed, no one is looking this way.
"Hidden" whispers the mist.
The mist draws in and circles each of us like a hug before moving back into the letters.
We quickly read our letters from the goddess Leto, she complimented our individual strengths and warned of danger ahead beyond the prophecy for our heart.
"Why can't gods speak plainly" Pan moaned "and give clear instructions"
I laughed, "you should be relieved we have help, come on their may be more information at whatever accommodation the goddess has arranged" I tell them snatching up a set of keys.
The others suddenly lunged for the remaining keys but Attis was faster,
"Gods, what a choice , Attis you drive like a maniac , I'll go with Helios" Pan muttered grabbing the map before shoving the others out of the way and following me.
Xx
We followed the map to a large estate just outside the town, parking we hopped out and looked up at the house "now where do we go" Mor's grumbled. As a door opened in front of us.
"Good afternoon sirs" called the elderly white haired man that appeared "I've been expecting you, i am Jones, if you'll follow me I'll show you round" he said before turning and disappearing inside.
"After you" I said giving Mor's a push forward to go first.
We followed the man into a grand entrance hall, "The West wing is yours, the kitchen is down here" he walked away with us following pointing out the dining room, games room and lounge, circling back to the hall he pointed up the stairs "there are seven bedrooms and bathrooms and a study and library area, the internet is connected for you and groceries have been delivered"
"Thank you Jones" Pan told him
jones pointed to the hall table, "there are keys for you here, parking for this property is at the front, so your vehicles can remain where they are, there is access to the gardens through the kitchen, these are shared with the east wing residents"
"We have neighbours" Pan asked
"Yes sir, a writer and her charge who is the new librarian" Jones replied handing Pan a business card, "if you need anything Sir please do call me" he said before rushing out the door.
"Lets go" Mor's called heading for the kitchen
"Wait" I shouted racing after him "the goddess told us to watch and learn not rush in"
"She lives next door, she may be there now, I want to see her" he demanded reaching the kitchen
We all raced after him as he strode towards the door, only to be thrown back
"Gods" he growled getting up and moving towards the door again only to hit resistance once again, he slumped back against the wall.
"Patience" whispered a voice.
We swung round looking but no one was there.
"Mor's" I called to him
He looked back at me "I know Helios, i know, Patience"
I smiled at him " come on let's see where everything is and make a plan, if she's next door it won't be long before we see her again"
Xx
It was raining by the time I reached home, it sort of matched my mood, grey and unsettled, throwing my coat in the cupboard I called my guardian
"Leto"
"Leto, are you home?" I walked up to her office, the family history book in my hand, opening the door to an empty room.
Damn I wanted answers and she was out, clutching the book I went to my room and got changed, leaving it on my bedside table for later.
Xx
Having investigated upstairs one of the rooms faced over a parking area for the East wing, as we stood gazing out over that side of the gardens a small car pulled in and we held our breath as Nettie appeared looking frazzled pulling her bag out before going inside.
"So close" I whisper to the window
"Soon" said Attis turning away telling the others "we leave this room empty else we will spend all our time watching out the window".
