meeting Her

kirk's (jims) POV

I walked into the bar with bones he and I had a plan we were going to try to get spock a girlfriend I know that it is wrong to try to force two people together. But it would be fun seeing spock with a woman. So as soon as we got to the bar I ordered 3 shots of scotch I was gonna order spock one but then I figured I didn't want to be to mean to him. A few minutes spock and Scottie Caught up with us I handed Scottie the drink and then I led the group over to a table with 4 women and said " hey you mind if we sit here ladies ?" to which one of the women nodded and said if you want to." the ladies shifted together to allow us to sit down I turned and pushed Scottie into a seat and sat beside him. Bones looked around before pointing to a pretty lady sitting alone and said " I am going to see if that lady needs some 'doctors' service" and off he when leaving spock to sit with the lady who allowed us to sit with her.

Spock's POV

I looked at the seat and then I looked at the woman. I could see she was uncomfortable so I stayed standing looking at the door. After a while she asked me "why don't you sit down?" to which I replied " your body language suggests that you are very uncomfortable around the male species. So logically to make you feel less uncomfortable I decided to stand."

Melody's POV

it took me a minute to process what he said then I replied quickly " no no men don't make me uncomfortable sit please." To my surprise he sat down and looked at me no emotion showed on his face but I could see he was trying to sit as far away as possible to not upset me likely. A moment later  spock nodded and turned his head to the captain. We all sat in silence for a while until a song came on and amber, sarah and bella jumped up pulling the older man and the captain up and running on to the dance floor. A few minutes passed and then the man beside me turned and looked at me holding out his hand in a friendly gesture "I believe the human thing to do is to introduce myself. I am spock. And you are?"

I took his hand slowly and said "my name is melody" that is when I noticed the ears " you're a vulcan" I said surprised.

"Yes" spock said and very calmly he said " and you are a human." And the first time in a long time I smiled a genuine smile " yes spock yes I am a human."
