captain kirks POV

As we went in the asteroid cloud I ordered Scottie to put the shields up. We went to the biggest asteroids first. " any sign of life spock?" I asked. " it is hard to tell captain with the interference but the scanners say there is no life forms that I am aware of."

" alright blow it up" I said. After the bigger asteroids were destroyed. We went to the smaller ones. We only managed to destroy a few when our ship was hit from behind by a phaser beam. I tried to radio the USS Destiny but what I seen as a horrible sight.

Captain melody's POV

after captain kirk's ship blasted one of the bigger asteroids amber said " we have a ship coming up from behind melody. It's a klingon war ship." just as she said 30 klingon transported onto our ship one of them shot most of the crew on the bridge I was forced to my knees and forced to watch them all die. I watched as Sarah my best friend since I started at the academy was shot right in front of me one by one all of my friends were killed. A few minutes later captain kirks face appeared on the screen his face turned from anger to scared to concerned. The klingon then said if harsh English " if you do not help us destroy starfleet I will kill your little friend here"

Spock's POV

at the sight of melody being held captive made me feel a range of emotions I let out a small whimper of pain. Every one on the bridge looked at me in a concerned manner then I got up and stood behind the captain holding my head in pain when the klingon seen me he laughed. " I have seen that look on a Vulcan only once Mr.Spock do you know when that was?" he paused waiting for me to answer. " oh so the Vulcan doesn't know everything. Well for your information Mr.Spock a Vulcan only looks like that when his loved one is in danger or in pain. Do you love her Mr.Spock?" I chose not to answer for a few moments. I merely turned to the doctor McCoy and nodded and walked off the bridge. Dr. McCoy followed me "what are we going to do Spock?" McCoy asked. As soon as I was sure there was no one around I looked at the Doctor. He had been a great friend all these years to me and to the captain. I wanted him to come with me but the captain needed him more then I did.

" no doctor it is not what we will do it is what I will do. If you come I cannot guarantee your safety and the captain needs you here to help comfort him if I do not make it out alive. All you must do is help the captain to make logical choices. I do not wish to leave the enterprise only for it to go down in flames later."
