is love logical?

Spock's POV

as I walked melody toward the transporter room I glanced at her through the corner of my eye. "She is very beautiful." I thought to my self. After a few minutes melody said " I know you are staring at me spock what is it?"

" I was thinking.." I said

"what about?" she pressed on I could tell that she wasn't going to let up till I told her but I couldn't tell her.

" I do not wish to speak about it." I tried.

" ok." she said. At first I was relieved that she wasn't pressing about it but I felt as if I must but by the time I plucked up the courage to ask her we were at the transporter room and the captain bones and her friends were there so I walked with her into the transporter room in silence and as her friends and the doctor and captain were saying goodbye I started the transporter and they disappeared leaving me alone with melody. "Why did you do that?" she asked I could tell she really wanted to go back to her ship. " I wished to talk to you but anything said in front of the captain and doctor McCoy I would ... how would humans put it ... never hear the end of it."

"Ok" she said " what is it?"

"Is love logical?" I asked now scared of what she would say.

" oh um ... I would say so why?" she said

" there is a female human ... who I think I love but I do not believe it is logical."

"Oh well who is it ?" she asked

"the person is-" I started before I was interrupted by the transporter starting again and revealing a very angry captain kirk and bones

" spock what was the meaning of that!" the captain yelled.

" yeah spock what was that for?" McCoy yelled afterwards. I could tell they were mad but doctor McCoy had a smile on his face when he looked at how close melody and I had some how ended up. " I am sorry captain, also to you doctor I do not know exactly what happened there seems to be a malfunction in the..." I trailed off not being able to finish the lie melody saved me by saying "the transporter . it was missing a ...screw Mr. Spock fixed it just in time to receive you."

"Thank you captain melody for clarifying." the captain said though he looked very confused.

" alright spock as long as you have fixed it now is it safe for captain melody to beam aboard her ship?"the captain said.

"Yes I do believe so captain." I said simply

"very well say your goodbyes spock and we will be off" the captain said.

I walked with melody very slowly a piece of paper in my hand as melody stood in front of the transporter she raised her hand in a Vulcan goodbye I raised my own to mirror it then I walked toward her placing my hand in hers and shaking it then I turned and left feeling slightly embaressed .
