july, 1989

heather had a rough night. first, she woke up in the middle of the night, and the room was pitch black. there was no sound, except for a creepy laughter.

"what the hell? who's here?" she said.

"want a balloon?" suddenly, the only light was on a tall clown with the thinnest, reddest, and creepiest smile painted on his face.

"fuck no. go away."

"are ya sure?" he chuckled an evil chuckle.

"yes. GO AWAY."

the door flew open as soon as heather felt the slightest fear.

"first of all, who are you to be slamming doors in my house? second of all, will you murder me if i try to leave through that door?"

"nope." the clown said, popping the p.

heather shot up from her bed and scurried to the door. as soon as she left, she regretted it. she heard yells and screams and slaps and cries. heather immediately started to cry as well. she ran to where the trouble was happening, and saw her parents.

"heather..." her mother cried.

she quickly went to her mother's aid. she closed her eyes and cradled her mother, tears streaming down her face. soon after, she opened her eyes, and saw the same clown. she screamed as loud as possible.

"this isn't real! this isn't real! THIS ISN'T REAL!" heather screamed, holding her head.

"yes it is. it's as real as your fears." his eyes went to the back of his head, his mouth opened wide, revealing thousands of sharp teeth, like a shark. heather screamed even louder. she jumped from her spot in the clown's arms and ran out of her house. she ran to the fence, hopped on her bike, and biked to bill's house.

ever since heather's first day at her new school, her and the losers club have gotten very close. she could always go to anyone in that group, especially richie or bill.

she soon saw the nice house in the nice neighborhood. as soon as it was in sight, she biked faster and faster. when she reached his driveway, she literally jumped off of her bike and ran to the front door. she banged as hard as she good for a good twenty seconds. the door quickly opened, revealing none other than bill himself.

"w-why are y-yyou here, heather?" he questioned.

heather did not reply, only burst into tears.

"heather? are y-you ok-kay? w—hat's wrong?"

"there was a clown-and my parents... and it was dark and-and silent and... he tried to eat me."

"wh-ho? who tried to eat y-you?"

"i don't know... some c-clown."

"clown?"

"yes. can i just... spend the night. i can't handle being back home after that happened." she begged.

"of c-course." bill stepped to the side to let her in.

"thank you so much." she said.

heather made her way over to the couch and fell onto it. she grabbed a blanket that was arm's length away, and fell asleep. bill smiled at the sight, then went to his room by himself.
