"heather?" said a distant voice.
"heather, sweetie, i need you to wake up."
"hmm?"
"we're taking you home."
"i am home."
"no... with us."
heather's eyes shot open, and there stood her mother and father.
"wh-what the hell?" heather exclaimed.
"we're taking you back to washington with us." her mother announced.
heather shook her head, "no, you're not! i'm going to stay here and live a happy, poor life without you two here. you guys ruined my life, ruined our lives."
"we already saw the bodies in the big freezer, heather."
"shit."
"language. a young lady shall not have such a foul mouth!"
"fuck you, honestly. get out of my house, i can get a job. i can pay for food."
"no, you can't. you're a child, you deserve to have a childhood, that's why we want you to come with us." her father added.
"but i don't want to go with you."
"why not? surely you've missed us?"
"i haven't, actually. milo raised me better than the two of you combined could. also, i have friends here. a life, mom. maybe you could live here. even though i hate you both, it'd be nice to have an actual house."
"we can't move here, we have jobs back in washington."
suddenly, heather pushed past both of them and left her home.
"heather! get your ass back here, you belong to us!" heather's father yelled.
heather jumped onto her bike, and swiftly pedaled to the first person that came to her mind. richie tozier. on the way there, she cried. she cried because she was angry. and hurt. why her? why now? she was doing fine, except for the fact that she had to sneakily shop lift her necessities. her main question was, how did they find out that i was alone? and why did they check for bodies?
finally, she arrived at tozier's house, ready to spill the tea. heather frantically fell off her bike and scurried the door. she banged recklessly on the door until someone opened the door.
"jesus christ can't you calm dow- heather? hi, sweetie! what's the matter?" mrs. tozier smiled.
"is richie home? i need to talk to him." heather replied, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.
"y-yes, he is. what's all the fuss about?"
"excuse me, maggie, i really need to talk him." she muttered as she pushed passed richie's mom.
"o-okay. don't fall on your way up, okay sweetie?"
heather rushed up the stairs to tell richie the tragic news. as she was speed walking through the hallway, she crashed into none other than richie himself.
"oh sorry–heather?" he asked with a tone of confusion.
"richie, hi. i really, really need to talk to you it's urgent." she replied, grabbing his hand and pulling him to his room.
"what the hell? what happened?"
she shoved them both onto his bed, "mymomanddadcamebackandwantmetomovetowashingtonwiththemandtheyfoundmiloandzach'sbodies."
"all i heard was mom and bodies."
"my mom and dad came back and want me to move to washington with them and they found milo and zach's bodies."
"is she hot?"
"no, richie, she isn't! why can't you just be mature for once in your fucking life?"
he cleared his throat awkwardly, "sorry, heather."
"i'm sorry too. anyways, i don't know what to do, what i want to do. should i move in with them? should i not? i mean they completely abandoned me and my brothers for pretty much my whole life and then randomly come back after they die and expect me to run into their arms like a desperate little girl?"
"first of all, i think you shouldn't leave. i mean, seriously, you're leaving your friends and future husband." richie said, winking.
heather rolled her eyes, "one, we're not going to marry each other, and two, you're right. washington is across the country. i'm not goin' that far anytime soon."
"HEATHER?!"
the two kids both turned their heads towards the scream. was that her parents? how did they find her?
stomp. stomp. stomp.
"HEATHER, YOU LITTLE BRAT, COME HERE!"
heather turned towards richie and motioned for him to go with her. she quietly ran to his closet, and hid in there.
"stay here, and don't say anything to them." she whispered, descending farther into the closet. he nodded, and went back to his bed.
"HEATHER GLADYS MARIE O'DONNELL, SHOW YOURSELF!" the familiar, loud voice was closer this time.
heather heard richie jump onto his bed and flip open a comic book. suddenly, the door swinged open.
"is heather in here?" said a red-faced, 40 year old woman.
"heather? i-i don't know any heather." richie replied nervously.
"pale, black hair? heather o'donnell? your mother said she was here."
"well, she's not. maybe you should remember to take your meds in the morning." richie said without thinking, but then went wide-eyed as he realized what he had said.
heather's mother opened her mouth in an "o" shape, "watch your mouth, boy! someday you are going to get a beating."
heather then accidentally knocked over an unknown object in richie's closet, causing a loud noise. ms. o'donnell stomped over to the closet and ripped open the doors. there sat heather with a terrified look on her face. her mother grabbed her by the collar of her yellow blouse. she yelled and yelled at her, but heather paid no attention to what she was saying, it all sounded like muffles. all she was focused on was her dad walking into the room and staring at her, looking as relaxed as ever. heather burst out in tears. everybody was now screaming, even mrs. tozier had joined a while back. richie was yelling at ms. o'donnell to stop hurting heather. ms. tozier was yelling at richie to not get involved. mr. o'donnell was yelling at heather fir being an ungrateful child. ms. o'donnell was yelling at everybody to shut the hell up.
then, there was a loud slap.
everybody went silent.
heather rose from which of which she had fallen to.
she slapped her own mother.
hard.
"YOU LITTLE—" ms. o'donnell screamed in anger.
she launched at heather, only to grab another child. richie tozier. he was standing in front of heather, protecting her. he shoved heather out of the way before her mom did something unbelievable. she intended to punch heather, but she hit the only other child in the room. maggie screamed and pulled ms. o'donnell away from her son. heather watched in disbelief. she ran up to richie and made sure he was okay.
"richie?! richie! can you hear me?" she asked frantically.
"kind of, yeah." he replied, voice quivering.
"i am so sorry, that was all my fault. i shouldn't have come here in the first place."
"no, it's fine. really, it is."
"i'm so, so sorry, richard."
"it's okay, heather gladys."
"ew, never use my middle name."
YOUR BITCH MADE A COMEBACK AFTER NEARLY A MONTH AYY. and for all of y'all wondering, no, richie is not heather's secret brother.
