Fandom experiences part 1

So... Lemme start off with one of my favorite animes!!! (TBH I don't watch anime enough)

Remember the cancerous fandom of hetalia????? ME FUCKING NEITHER

I wish at least.

Believe me, I still like this anime.  It's fun to have a laugh at ridiculous stereotypes of nationalities including your own. (Not trying to sound racist. That is the last thing I wanna be!). But hell, the characters did give me a lot of inspiration for oc traits/facts, sometimes oc designs, and has also helped me with SOMEEEE history/ global stuff. I also learned to be kinda respectful towards ships and I also kinda learned how to not make my ocs so Mary Sue. 

It got me to wanna learn other languages and kiiiinda recognize some accents.

And overall, it got me to enjoy any country's culture and it also kinda made me feel good to have ancestors come from these places.  I can remember all the countries that my relatives came from too.(I hope I don't sound like a special snowflake XD)

That's some of the positive outcomes of my experience in the fandom. Now instead, I will list the negative outcomes:

-it made me self conscious about posting some oc x cannon stuff.
-I was also self conscious about showing any sign of support for a ship I loved.
-I don't yaoi ship a lot (just pointing out, I am NOT a homophobe. I happen to be bisexual.) this doesn't mean that I do t support some gay ships tho!  You can thank the heterophobic yaoi shippers.
-I talked about nationalities (including my own) waaay too much and my fam got mad at me for it a few times.
-(sorry to sound sjw) it made me feel bad for being a female and being attracted to men, too. 
-it pissed me off to see any female character to get hated on for no reason.

Now I really do try to respect all ships, but there are times when I can't tolerate some of them.

I know that these are country adaptations in the end,  but it REALLY creeps me out to see sibling countries such as Belarus and Russia smash.  I know it is fictional, but glorifying the idea of fucking your own sibling is a problem. XD

Now again, I really don't care about these things being a ship, but fans were so in our fucking faces about their otps, that they would dis other people for not liking it and any other character that 'got in the way of their otp' would be hated on so extremely, that they would insult the country itself. 

It would be funny to see these idiotic fangirls get slapped by a person from that country that they insulted XD.

A good example of these characters who felt with the anti shipping shit are Hungary, Seychelles and Belarus.  Not to sound like a sexist little sjw, but the female characters were hated on so fucking much all because 'they got in the way of their otp.'

Like... shut the fuck up XD you are not special for shipping something that others don't.  You shouldn't let ships bother you so badly, that's unhealthy as fuuuuck!

(I probably sound hypocritical, but I don't publicly rant about ships I dislike anyway XD oopse.)

And I get it, kids are kids, the last thing I wanna do is ruin someone's creativity, but BOY WERE THERE SO MANY BAD OCS!

I will admit it, I had pretty bad hetalia ocs too, but there were some godawful ocs that came across MUCH more offensive and partially racist than any cannon hetalia character did.

A race should not be defined by dyed hair and slutty emo weebish clothes. 

I wanted my oc to look like they actually came from that country, so that's why I did research on clothes and the people.  I also developed their characters trait a bit by looking at references of the country too.

An example, something I NEVER saw in Ireland was her fear of snakes. 

My oc was terrified of them for one reason: Saint Patrick supposedly got rid of every snake in the country.

it probably isn't real, but i felt it would fit.

But yeah. That's all I got on my mind atm.
