I'd really love actual critique please XD Ik it's really bad. I feel that more needs to be in this story than just the two of them being together.
Last night, disappointment would arise when a little something went wrong with one of Jimmy's beloved alternate versions of himself. Nothing exactly too serious, but he wouldn't be able to tolerate having his favorite avatar being seen in public. Thankfully, The mysterious scientist had another avatar kept in the same area.
However, this avatar was... A teetotaler, more of a clean person, instead of a dare devil like his other personas. Not as impressive as the rest if his other personas, Jimmy still admired this timid one. This was because the scientist was almost just as awkward and uncomfortable around strangers. These traits were more rare as he grew older, but they weren't always hard to look for as an older man, rotting in a wheel chair.
This 'childish' issue really started fading when his talents were acknowledged by the man that he would soon grow to despise. His boss, Akan, tended to have a a thing or two to say about modern society and it came off as corney. Intimidating as hell, Jimmy was okay with him at first because he reminded him of an edgier and angrier version of himself. Offered a fairly big fortune, despite already being a successful man, he put as much heart and soul in managing his behavior as he did in his work. Everything went quite decently, or as he expected.
All it took to break these expectations was one simple flaw... Emotional motivation. Something rather fixable, when extra time is given to them. But of course, Akan intentionally let himself lose all his patience from being... excited. So, the brat was quite offended.
"I'm so sorry, sir! I'm so sorry!" The timid one cried out, typing away as the puppets walked around in distress. So much was going wrong at that moment. "Oh shit! Open the doors! Please open the door!" Rushing to the door, now expressing his terror in his voice. "We've got a malfunction! Let me out, please!" Violently banging his fists against the doors, fearing for his life.
"Sir, I'll fix it!"No matter how desperate he was, Akan, in his own casual tone, said "I doubt it."
Pushed back to the crowd of practical zombies, he was met with a few punches, bumping into the window. The poor man gasped when the sudden force had brought everyone to the floor. Without his own knowledge, the familiar force had caused his body to slowly rise up.
"You know, Jimmy, something about a spine snapping-"
Once Akan paused, He crashed to the cold, solid floor; earning a cracking sound. Eyes and mouth were wide open in shock. James was now experiencing the most excruciating pain he had never thought to exist. Failing to successfully move his arms by himself, Jimmy was close to tearing up, realizing what Akan has just done.
"...never gets old..."
And that was the last that he heard from Akan... until 3 years later.

Deeply sighing, he proceeded to look into everything about Edith. Learning that Paul Sawyer was the lead singer of a band, that broke up, there was no doubt in his mind that Edith was his child. 'Corn bugs'; a name that he heard Edith mention once. Memory always came in handy for these situations.
Alarming enough to learn about her heritage, Jimmy still wondered how threatening she really was. No real records of her committing any crimes had existed on the internet, just her parents and other relatives of hers. However, without a doubt in his mind, she definitely had something wrong with her, which made sense if she was raised by a redneck-cannibalistic hippie and a Hawaiian assassin, dressed as a biker chick.
