Lapis slowly opened the closet door to see her mother sewing something. She quietly walks behind her.

"Thank you mother..." She says.

"You can go to bed now." Her mother says. Lapis sighs and gives her mother a kiss. She walks upstairs and heads to her bathroom. She looked in the mirror with tears in her eyes. She stood in front of the mirror for a few seconds until it broke with force.

"Lapis?" Her mother asked as she went up the stairs. She knocked on the bathroom door.

"Lapis? Open the door!"

"It's open mother.." Lapis mutters.

"What was that noise?" She asked her.

"What noise?"

"Go to bed." She demanded.

"Yes ma'am. Just saying my prayers.." She told her. Her mother slowly walked out and went back downstairs. Lapis sobbed as she looked at the shattered mirror.

"What are you going to leave for us, you people in your big cars, spewing pollution into the air? You people with heavy feet, trampling down the wilderness." Ms. Holly Blue reads as she walks around the classroom.

"You people who peer into the back seats of our cars, hours after you come out of the back doors of your motels. Soon all we will have is each other. And that could be enough. If you will let us have room enough and air enough and peace enough to love each other as you never could." She read. Jasper smiles lightly as she listened to Ms. Holly Blue read her poem.

"Well. Hm. I... I really must say... I must confess this poem displays the most extraordinary talent. Talent extraordinary for you, Jasper Quartz." Ms. Holly Blue looks down at Jasper.

"You know, Jasper, this is slightly different from running touchdowns and hitting home runs." Everyone giggled.

"Well class, any criticisms?" She asked the class.

"Anyone?"

"It's beautiful..." Lapis says quietly in the back of the classroom. Everyone turned around to face her.

"Lapis Lazuli!" Ms. Holly Blue gasped.

"Beautiful.. Beautiful? Oh, beautiful for spacious skies,or amber waves of grain! Is that the beautiful you mean? Is it, Lapis, hmm?" Some students including Amethyst started giggling.

"Well Lapis, this is hardly criticism!" Ms. Holly Blue stated.

"You suck.." Jasper muttered quietly under her breath.

"Jasper, what was that you just say?"

"Oh umm I said, oh shucks!" Everyone in the classroom snickered, except for Lapis. Lapis walked out of the class when she saw her best friend and crush walk up to her.

"Hey Lapis. I'm sorry about the whole incident thing, in the locker room." She apologizes.

"It's fine.. you didn't know.." Lapis says.

"To make it up for you, w-would you, like to go to the prom with me?" Peridot looks up at her and blushes. Lapis blushes back and smiles lightly.

"S-sure." She smiles.

"Thanks Lapis! I'll see you later!" She says as she watches Lapis walk away. She sighed and walked to her own class. Lapis walked through the hallways and went to her locker. There was words on her locker saying, "Lapis Lazuli eats shit." Lapis sadly sighs and she walks near the entrance of the gym and peeks from the window.

"Line up! On you're feet, right now, two lines!" Ms. Yellow shouted.

"Ruby and Sapphire eyes front! Connie! You too Amethyst. And spit out that gum!" She shouted as Amethyst popped her gum.

"Where do I put it Ms. Yellow?" Amethyst asks.

"You can choke on it for all I care, just get it out of your mouth!" Ms. Yellow snapped at her. Amethyst rolled her eyes as she spits her gum out. Ms. Yellow walked around towards the students. Pearl stood there, smirking at the teacher.

"Wipe that smirk off your face Pearl!" Pearl's smirk faded as she looked down.

"Okay. Now I want you all to know that you did a really shitty thing yesterday, a really shitty thing." Ms. Yellow looked at them angrily.

"Did any of you stop to think that Lapis Lazuli has feelings? Do you any of you ever stop to think?!" She asked them angrily.

"I guess your too busy thinking about your dates, and the prom." She walks towards Amethyst.

"Take your pick Amethyst. Who's the lucky girl or guy?" Ms. Yellow asks.

"Peridot Green." Amethyst replies.

"Huh?"

"Peridot Green."

"I'm sorry can you speak up?" Ms. Yellow asks sarcastically.

"Peridot Green!" Amethyst said rather loudly.

"Well isn't she the lucky one?" Ms. Yellow smirks as she looks at Peridot.. She walks towards Peridot.

"How about you Peridot, who's taking you?"

"Lapis.." Peridot muttered. Amethyst gasped as she felt betrayed. She mouthed the words, what the hell?

"Right." Ms. Yellow says.

"Now, my idea for this little trick you pulled was three days suspension and refusal of your prom tickets." The girls gasped as they looked horrified.

"That'd get you where you live, wouldn't it? And you deserve it. I don't think any of you have any idea of just how nasty what you did really was! But the office has decided, you'll have one week of detention." Ms. Yellow says.

"But there's a catch. It will be my detention." Everyone in the room groaned.

"That's fifty minutes, everyday, starting today, on the field. Got that ladies?"

"I'm not coming!" Amethyst growled.

"That's up to you Amethyst! That's up to all of you. Punishment for skipping detention is three days suspension and refusal of your prom tickets. Any other thoughts? Good. Now change up." Ms. Yellow demands. Everyone groaned as they went to get changed.

"This is bullshit I'm not going!" Amethyst says.

"You're gonna miss prom!" Pearl told her.

"Fuck!" Amethyst rolled her eyes as she stomped towards Peridot.

"Why the hell did you just say that you were taking Lapis Lazuli to the prom!?" She snapped.

"I just.."

"You said you were taking me to the prom! And because of Lapis we have to do this bullshit! Why do you even like her!?" She asks angrily.

"Because she's different and she's so, sweet! Her hair is the color of the ocean." Peridot explains.

"No she isn't! She eats shit! Listen, if you won't stop hanging around with her and caring about her, then I'll tell everyone your arms and legs are fake. You'll be exposed as freak just like her. Do you want to keep you're popularity Peridot? Huh?" Amethyst asks her.

Peridot looks down and frowns then looks up at Amethyst.

"Alright fine. But I already asked her out. How do I get out of it?" Peridot asks.

"Just make up a excuse, like you're not feeling well or something!" Amethyst suggests.

"Alright. I'll do it." Peridot sighs.

"Thanks babe." Amethyst smiles at her and kisses her on the cheek. Peridot blushes lightly as they walked to the locker room.
