chapter 16
Tris POV

Today was the day we would let the initiates go through a dauntless members fear landscape. We were supposed to walk through Lauren's landscape but she was sick so we had to improvise. The initiates would be going through my fear landscape. I didn't like it but I was the only option because I didn't want to put Tobias through that. Even though I was still upset with him, I knew he wouldn't want to handle the initiates knowing his fears. I just hope that a specific fear involving him wouldn't be there. I was also worried about taking my time to not show my divergentness and I hoped that all the initiates wouldn't notice. We were sitting in the stimulation room with the initiates and were giving them five minutes to ask any questions they needed.
"You have five minutes to ask me whatever you want, go." Chase slightly raised his hand and I nodded towards him.
"What is the lowest amount of fears in dauntless?"
"Four."
"Wait was tha-" Realization dawned on the initiates faces and I laughed quietly to myself. Alyssa, a former candor, spoke up.
"Does that mean you only have six fears."
"Well she used to have seven, but she got over one." Tobias spoke up, smiling cheekily at me. I managed to glare back at him.
"Ok your five minutes are up, lets get started." Tobias and I walked around to each of the initiates injecting them with the serum and saved ourselves for last.

into the fear landscape
Tobias POV

Everything was going normal, all of Tris's average fears were there except for one, the water one. She must've gotten over it at one point. The shooting fear ended and everything went black and I saw myself standing outside of our apartment.
"Please don't leave!" She tried to hug me but I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I'm sorry Tris, I just, I promise its not you."
"Then stay we could work this out!!!"
"No Tris!! We can't work this out! Theres someone else!"
"Its ok Four," She said bitterly, "There is always someone else. I knew you were to good for me." She was slumping as she walked away quietly crying. Everything fazed to black and I snapped open my eyes and looked around the poorly lit stimulation room. Tris was trying to pull herself together but couldn't and rushed from the room. All the initiates looked dazed and sympathetic.
"Um... Its lunch time!!!!! You have the rest of the day off!" I ran from the room as fast as I could and easily caught up to Tris.
"Hey Tris can you look at me." I managed to stop her but she refused to meet my gaze.
"Come on Tris just one glance." She slowly looked up, her blue/grey eyes meeting my own.
"I'm never gonna leave you."
"I know" She whispered back, tears pouring down her face.
"Come on." I took her hand and we walked back to the apartment. Once there we sat down on our bed. We sat there silently until Tris scooted closer to me.
"Im sorry." She whispered.
"For what?"
"I overreacted wayyy more than should've."
"You shouldn't be apologizing, I shouldn't try to fix your problems."
"I know but you were just trying to help, and I realized that now." I pulled her close to me and kiss the top of her head, burying my face in her sweet smelling hair.
"You know this bed is much to lonely when you're not here."
"I don't think we will be leaving it anytime soon."
