Neil's and Harrison's phones kept going off around six p.m. Annoyed, they checked them.
"Preston's been blowing up my messages," the magical one muttered.
"Same. Well, Max instead," the brunet stated. "He says Preston and him want us to go to Starbucks."
"Yeah. He's practically begging me to go." He stood up and slipped the phone into his back pocket. He glanced at his roommate. "You coming?"
He shrugged. "Why not?" Standing up, he followed Harrison towards the door. With a smirk and a flick of his wrist, the magician watched the door fly open.
"Really?" Neil said, unimpressed. His roommate chuckled. "What's the point of having a talent if you can't show it off?"
"Damn, he has a point..." he thought. On the outside he just rolled his eyes and grumbled as they left. "Whatever. Your car or mine?"
The older male snapped his fingers and his keys appeared. "I'll drive. Unless you want to."
The scholar shook his head. "Go ahead. I don't wanna do anything."
Harrison snickered and hit the unlock button. They climb into his SUV and drove off.
"After thirty minutes of dealing with you, I'm gonna need some caffeine," Neil commented. The driver glanced over at him. "I can get us there in fifteen."
He arched an eyebrow. "Can you really?" His tone was half disbelief and half sarcasm.
The illusionist smirked, a playful look in his eye. "Watch me." And with that, he slammed his foot on the gas.
"Shit, Harrison, not like this!" the teen shouted. His panicked cries were drowned out by laughter. The man behind the wheel let off the gas pedal and they slowed down.
"Jesus fucking christ, were you trying to kill me?" the passenger hissed. He shot the other a glare.
He laughed. "What? Kill that cute face of yours? Not a chance."
Neil hit him in the arm. "Shut up," the younger male muttered, hiding his blush. Harrison just giggled. "In all honesty, I did it to give you some adrenaline."
"What? Why?" The brunet asked, leaning back in his seat. He watched as the other shrugged. "According to what you said earlier, you'd need some coffee after I bored you to death..." The strawberry blond gave him a lopsided smile. "Now I don't have to worry about wearing you out."
He opened his mouth to say something, but quickly closed it. "Damn, he's a lot smarter than I thought..." He shook his head, fighting off the urge to like him. "You sly fucker," he managed to utter.
Harrison snickered. "Thank you." He heard Neil let out a frustrated sigh and smirked. Things were starting to go back to normal- or, what they considered normal, at least.
