Chapter 34

"We will see them again." Mark said and he put his hand on Kat's shoulder.

"I know." Kat said stuffing her hands into her hoodie pockets. She found a slip of paper. It had Ben's handwriting.

'Naos Orion leader of The Warriors of Adoh. Her team is Auva Orion, Edasich Orion, and Sirius Orion.'

Kat stared at the paper. How did it get into her hoodie? Kat then remembered that she hadn't put on a hoodie all day she didn't even have a hoodie like the one she was wearing. It was teal but had a cyan star on the front. She was confused but knew Ben had something to do with it.

"Let's go inside. Chris it's time for you to meet the family." Kat said. "I'm going to find Jake he is sick." Kat pulled her truck into the garage and then entered the house. She found Jake on the couch her family was talking to Chris. She walked up to Jake and touched the back of her hand to his forehead. He was burning up.

The coldness of her hand woke up Jake. "Where'd you go Kat?"

"I had to pick up dad and my truck. Let's go." Kat said before lifting Jake. Chris was awed at her strength. Jake wasn't exactly a small person. "Chris I will get your room cleaned in a minute." Kat took Jake to her room before going to the guest room and cleaning it quickly. She went back to her room and laid Jake's head on her lap. She gently stroked his brown hair that had grown out for a few months. It reached his shoulder. She fell asleep a few minutes after.

“Mom, Dad, Uncle meet me in the cave I want to train.” Kat said through the Starlink connection. It had been three weeks since she last saw Ben. She was trying to find a solution for Jake's sickness but couldn't. It was stressing her out. Jake had gone to school today.

“Okay Kat we will head to the cave.” Laura said. 15 minutes later everyone was at the cave. “What do you want us to do?” Laura said as they entered.

“You three will be in one team and I will be alone. We are going to spar.” Kat said and morphed into Naos. Her family did the same.

After a few hours of sparring without powers Kat called a timeout and suggested that they all go our to get some food then come back to train some more. The others agreed. During lunch they talked about strategy. All-though it was three on one Kat was still able to hold them off but it got harder as her family started to get better at working together. After lunch they went back to the cave and started sparring in Star-mode.

Naos was cornered. She was still ready to fight but her moves were limited. “Kat do you remember our training after the bear attack? At that time we learned two modes…” Starr explained strategy. “so what you need to do is the holographic mode and get behind them than use you animal mode.” Naos moved her hand to the control. She hit the button and the hologram was built instantly. She snuck behind her parents.

“Okay you win this one. Let's go back to the center.” the hologram said. Naos's family turned around and came face to face with the real Naos. “Never let your guard down.” Naos activated the animal mode. She became a lioness and pounced she jumped over her family and landed. She transformed back into a human and started to laugh. The hologram disappeared and Naos’s watch chimed signaling that she had achieved a new mode.

“Kat you just achieved a new mode. It is a combo mode. First you hit the button than you hit the two buttons and they will combine. But there is something else I don't know what it is.” Starr explained. Suddenly Kat's phone rang. Naos answered.

“Naos there is a situation at the school. We were in the middle of class and one of the darklinks burst through the window. It attached itself to Korey and changed her she is attacking everything.” the other person, Jake, explained.
