"I really hate you Michael" I said.

"Yeah yeah, I know everyone hate's me right now" Michael said rolling his eye's.

"Well your not wrong there" Brii said from beside me.

"Where is the fucking basement" Maria asked.

"I don't know I've never been in this house before" I said.

"Well it's obviously going to be on the first floor" Michael said in a sarcastic tone, everyone just gave him a look.

"Really, just really bro" Brii said in a annoyed tone, Michael just smirked.

"Ok so since the first floor is so huge, how about we split up into pair's" Blake said.

"I call dibs on Maria" Michael said.

"We all figured you would" Peter said, shaking his head.

"Ok so Peter and Brii can pair up, and that leave's Lilly and I" Blake said.

"Sound's good to me" Maria said as the group split up in different directions.

"Hey Blake" I said.

"Yeah" he said looking at me.

"Do you think that a curse is over this house"

"What, why would you think that" Blake asked me.

"I don't know, I mean you said the wife was into witch craft, or whatever was in those creepy ass book's, but it's just weird that the whole family gets murdered a few day's after she start's messing with those book's" I said.

"I never looked at it that way" Blake said.

"It could just be my over active imagination" I said.

"No you have a good point I mean, it can't be a coincidence" he said, walking up to a door and opening it. "Just a closet" he said shutting the door.

"Should've known it wouldn't be that easy" I said as we walked up to another door, right before I was about to turn the handle to open the door, I heard the floor creek behind us, I froze. "Did you hear that" I whispered to Blake.

"Mhm" he said shining his flash light around. "I don't see anything, m-maybe the house is just settling" he said still looking around.

"Maybe" I said and right at that moment the door flew open, making Blake and I scream.

"Oh my god" I heard a familiar  voice scream, I looked up to see Brii and Peter standing there. "I didn't know anyone was on the other side"

"God dammit Peter, I almost pissed myself" Blake said.

"It's not like we meant to, besides you two weren't the only one's to get scared" Brii said in defense.

"Were you two behind us earlier" I asked them, they both gave me a confused look.

"No why ?" Brii asked.

"I just thought I heard something that's all" I said.

"Hey have y'all been having trouble with your flashlight's" Peter asked.

"No why" Blake said.

"Ours have been going on and off and flickering" Peter said.

"Could be bad batteries" I said.

"No these are brand new batteries in here" he said.

"I don't know then" I said.

"So any luck with finding the basement" Brii said, changing the subject.

"Nope so far we've seen a closet and well this door" Blake said. "What about you two"

"Kitchen, dinning room and here" she said.

"Why didn't I think of that before" I said, they all just looked at me.

"Lilly wanna share with us here, cause we're all lost" Peter said.

"They sometimes had escape room's in old house's, time's were rough back then, they needed something, to where if they had to leave in a hurry, they'd be able to do it without anyone tracing there step's, so they'd have hidden room's that led to tunnel's and just different thing's" I said.

"See this is why you have to have a history nerd in the group" Brii said.

"Hey" I said acting offended.

"Well it's true" she said.

"Mhm" I said rolling my eye's. "So where's the kitchen" I asked.

"Here come on" Peter said turning around and walking away.

"Hey wait for us" I said catching up to him.

"Don't you think we need to wait for Michael and Maria" Blake asked from beside me.

"No there still looking for the basement" I said.

"This is the kitchen" Peter said opening a door. The kitchen was extravagant, the ceiling had one of the most beautiful murals I had ever seen in my life, fine China was still placed neatly on the shelf's as if they had just been washed and put away, awaiting for that night's gathering. The table was nicely put together, well besides the dead flower's that were once beautiful, but now they lay withered, strewn across the table.

"Woe" I said right before the door slammed shut and all of our flashlight's went out leaving us in complete darkness, that and the sound's of wood creaking all around us.
