It's Thursday and boring. I've always hated Thursdays. I hate everyday, anyway. I did my usual morning rituals. You know, get up - take a bath - eat - brush teeth - do whatever that doesn't kill you. I was flipping open a book I've always wanted to read again, Rainbow Rowell's Eleanor & Park when I heard the front gates open.
"Yaya, who's here?"
"Si sir at ma'am, po."
I immediately got up and ran my way towards the door and opened it. And there, I saw dad stretching his arms as if to say: "c'mere, lil' girl" and I hurriedly ran to him. He enveloped me in a tight hug and kissed my forehead.
"I missed you, Daddy." I said mostly to his chest.
"Don't you miss me?" Mum said from behind.
"Mummy!" I ran to her and hugged her tight.
"Oh, my baby. I'm sorry we've been really busy lately." She said, trying to hold her tears.
"Mum, it's okay. I'm okay. I'm just so happy right now."
"Don't worry, baby. Babawi si mummy sa'yo, okay?." She said, cupping my face in her hands.
"Mum, okay na po ako na nandito kayo. Okay na 'yun."
"No, baby. You, me, and Daddy will go out of town this summer. Daddy's done booking our tickets, we'll leave tomorrow." Mum said, excitement evident upon her voice. I'm not really sure about the idea of me going on an out of town trip with mum and dad but mum was so happy, I could not ruin it for her. And besides, it would be a good time to make up for all those wasted times, right? Yeah.
"Okay, mum. I'd love to go." I said, trying to sound as excited as a leaping lizard.
"That's great. Now go and start packing your things, we'll be out for quite a while. You don't wanna leave something behind now, do you?" I laughed at my mum's excited remarks and went upstairs to start packing. This is gonna be a hell of a summer.

It's been an hour and a quarter since our plane took off from Australia. Chet booked us tickets to the Philippines, since we've always wanted to go there because 1. Chet's and Jen's parents are from there and they've lived there for 5 years; 2. Mark's mum is a Filipina; 3. my mum too, tho but it's not because of her that I wanted to come here. I don't know, there's just something about this place. 4. Steph's just coming because I am.
After what felt like forever, we finally arrived. It feels really good to be back here. Just the soft and warm breeze makes me wanna own this land. Chet led us to the car that's picking us up. His friend drove us to a port. Apparently, to get to the island of our choice, we'd have to cross the sea first. Owel, who the hell doesn't want an adventure? It's on like donkey kong.
An hour passed and we finally arrived in Panglao, Bohol. This island's sick, man! It's got white sand beaches, women in bikini, surfing boards, jet skis, and a lot more! Man, this is awesome! I could totally get used to this. We checked ourselves in a villa in a resort called 'Panglao Island Nature Resort'. Chet and Jen shared a room. Mark, I and Steph shared another.
"Babe, let's go take a romantic walk." Steph said, hugging me from behind.
I let go of her embrace and said, "I'm tired, Steph. I'll go take a nap." "Okay. I'll sleep with you."
"Uh, okay." We slept for the next 3 hours and got up when it was dinner time. We had barbecue and pineapple juice. I immediately went back to bed after dinner. Jet lag sucks.

The plane ride was brief and chill. It only took an hour for us to get to our destination-- in Panglao, Bohol. Apparently, everything was already planned. All I've got to do's make sure my camera's with me and that I don't loose sight of my mum and dad. Mum checked us in a villa with two bedrooms-- one for them and another for me. I took a photo of the sign in the entrance that read: Panglao Island Nature Resort. Probably the name of this place. It's a very nice place. There's an infinity pool for the public and each villa has a pool of its own. The rooms are air-conditioned. There's a restaurant that kinda looks like a tree house and a playground. And the whitesand beach-- it's heavenly. I love this place. It's a good place for Eleanor & Park and headphones alike.
An hour later, we had a nice family dinner. We watched some TV after eating and decided to go to our rooms when it was almost 10. I've never had this kind for the longest time. You know, just me, my mum, and my dad, having the time of our lives, half-sitting, half-lying next to each other on the couch and laughing while watching TV. It felt so good. And happy. And real. I never wanted it to end.
