SOMEDAY (a JaDine Fanfic)

CHAPTER 7

James

I woke up to the sound of my stomach rumbling and so I got up and went to the kitchen to eat.  

"Hey, bro," Chet said and smiled.

"Hey," I said and smiled back.

"Someone's in a really good mood, yeah?" Mark said and walked towards us.

"Spill them beans, James," Jen said, joining us.

"Where's Steph?" I tried to dodge the topic, the last thing I needed was for them to judge her.

"I'm here. Why are you in a good mood?" Steph sat on the chair next to me.

"Nothing, really. Do I need a reason?"

"Not really but it's just..." Jen started, "unusual." Chet finished.

"It must've been the fact that we're sleeping in the same room. Haven't you got used to it, baby?" Steph said, holding my hand.

I let go and said, "No, it's obviously not that."

I could tell that Steph was surprised. Hah. "So what's it, then?" Chet asked.

"Nothing." I said and smiled. Mark looked at me and smiled. I know that he knows. And I can't stop smiling. I'm seeing her again today.    

Nadine

I woke up with a smile on my face. I can't stop smiling. Bakit ba? Eh, ang gwapo nya, e. I smiled again and brushed the thought away.  

"Mummy," I said as I approached my mum making breakfast.

"Yes, baby? Ang aga mo atang nagising, ah?" Mum said, smiling at me.

"Ah, haha. Wala lang po. Can I go out today, mum?"

"Oh, you've made friends?"

"Not really. Just this guy," I said, a little hesitant this time.

"Oh, what's he like? I want to see him."

"If he comes, mum. I'll bring him inside, is that okay?"

"Yes, baby. Just be careful, alright?"

"Okay, mum," I said and hugged her. I'm lucky to have her as my mum.

"Alright, baby, breakfast is almost ready. Call your dad upstairs for me, will you?"

"Okay, mum," I said and hurried upstairs.  

I went inside Mum and Dad's room and found my dad lying with his face on the pillow. And just because I'm extra happy today, I decided to wake him up my way. I ran for a start and jumped on the bed. I jumped and laughed my heart out as I chant, "Daddy get your lazy butt up" repeatedly and Dad woke up laughing at me and my trick. Ha. I got him.  

"Dad, mum wants us downstairs. Breakfast's ready."

"Alright, c'mon now. We don't want her to scream," Dad said, offering his hand for me to take. I took it and went with him downstairs.  

The three of us ate a hearty meal. Just pancakes and bacons and eggs and orange juice tho. We were talking casually about stuffs when my mum said, "Nadine's got a date today, dad."  

I choked and said, "mum! It's not a date, alright!"

My mum laughed and said, "but you're going out with a boy, isn't that dating?"

My dad smiled and said, "so, why don't you tell us about your boyfriend?"

"Daddy!" I rolled my eyes. They both laughed.
