I flopped down on the bed next to him and groaned. Staring at the ceiling with my legs dangling over the side was actually quite comfortable. Maybe I can stay like this forever until I die or something, I thought sullenly.
"Seriously, Kimi-chan, what's wrong?" asked Yaito, looking down at me. His hair fell out of its usual style and hung around his handsome face. I looked at his lips, how pale pink they were and the way he licked them whilst he waited for me to reply.
I groaned again and closed my eyes, though I could still see him perfectly in my mind like a prettily painted picture or a photograph taken at the perfect moment.
"Life problems," I sighed.
I felt him lie next to me and we stayed like that for a few minutes in comfortable silence.
"Did he say something wrong?" asked Yaito out of the blue. I decided that there wasn't any point in lying, he'd probably find out eventually. I told him everything; my perspective from when we first met, and up until this point. I left nothing out.
When I had finished, I opened my eyes and realised that they were blurry with tears. Angrily blinking them away, I saw Yaito on his side, elbow propping him up, simply staring at me. His face held no emotion at all.
"Is that everything?" he asked, not unkindly. I nodded feebly, feeling like my energy had sapped away.
"I think that Makoto has a secret," he stated. I waited and he continued. "I know for a fact that he cares about you, he obviously did from when you first met or he wouldn't have brought you your things. He was curious, I think, and so invited you to stay here, but maybe more on a whim he broke his phone.
"Makoto is a weird guy in the way that he can't sort out his feelings until it's too late. I guess you overheard his and Isei's argument before? About Azalea?" I stiffened. Do I confess? I stiffly shrugged, making sure it could be mistaken for me shifting to a more comfortable position. I was now facing him, and he looked me in the eyes.
"Well, she was a girl, a lot like you in a way. Her personality was completely different but she was tall like you and not Japanese either. She was from Canada, and came to stay here. Unlike you, though, she was renting a room on the top floor. Makoto and her became quite involved in eachother, and eventually they were intimate enough that they would openly kiss.
"Word got out that Makoto had a relationship, and our fans and the media went wild, asking for more information than even Makoto or Azalea could give. They decided to take a break from the relationship so that they could sort out their feelings for each other and decide where to go from there.
"During this break, Isei was also sorting out his feelings for Azalea. He realised that he saw her as more than a friend, and told Li, the one he was incredibly close with. Li being Li let the secret slip to Azalea, and when she gave no interesting reaction, Li told Makoto. You might guess what happened."
My eyes widened.
"I wouldn't have thought Li would do something so cold." Yaito smiled gently.
"That's because you see the good in everyone. That was a trait Azalea had too..." He paused and sighed tiredly. "Anyway, Makoto confronted Isei about his feelings, and things went down hill from there. After several months, Azalea decided she also saw Isei as a love object, but still saw Makoto as one too. In the end, she left because she couldn't choose. Makoto however, always insists that she told him he would always be in her heart and that if he needed a lover she would be there."
I blinked several times, waiting for my mind to fully process what I had been told.
"She just up and went? How long ago?" I dreaded the answer.
