An animalistic yowl sliced through the air as I slid off my bed and started towards my ajar door. I heard heavy footsteps and saw Makoto dash past my room. Picking up my pace, I followed the moans and voices to Takeo's room. The door was wide open and everyone was crowded inside around what I guessed was Takeo.
"What happened?" I asked worriedly as I stood by Li.
"He saw a spider, screamed, then slipped on his way out of the bathroom and has hit his head pretty hard," explained Isei, kneeling by the shivering frame of Takeo. His usually porcelain face was paper white and his cheeks were wet with tears.
Yaito was in the bathroom, supposedly dealing with the spider, and Makoto was leant down by Takeo and offering words of comfort.
"It's fine!" he managed to cough out to Takeo. "It's not a very deep cut!" Takeo's wide blue eyes trembled in fear and he moaned again.
"Hold still, Takeo," ordered Isei. "Kimi, go and get a wet flannel." I nodded and rushed to the bathroom, the image of Takeo's bloody blond hair still in my mind.
"Yaito-kun, where are the flan-." He cut me off my pointing to a cupboard above the sink. I reached for it and went on my tippy toes to get the flannel on the top shelf. Just as I was about to fall forwards, I felt Yaito's hard chest press against my back as he reached up and grabbed it for me.
I went red and looked down, embarrassed, as I soaked the cloth.
"Kimi? Do you have it yet?" shouted Isei, obviously stressed. I quickly squeezed out some of the water then made my way past Yaito and back to Takeo.
Isei immediately grabbed the flannel from me and pressed it gently to Takeo's wound. He only groaned, his eyes closed and his back resting against Makoto.
"Is it serious?" I asked, afraid for the answer. Isei didn't reply, but instead looked up at me; his expression unreadable.
"I don't think so," he said finally, almost as if he doubted it himself. "But Takeo-chan won't be dancing for a few days, if not more. I don't think it needs stitches but I'd like to take him to the hospital anyway."
"What are we going to do about the concert?" Makoto almost exploded.
"Either none of us do it or Takeo doesn't do it, but either way there will be no way I'll allow Takeo to take part in it."
"But he's the star of this show!" yelled Makoto, his brow creased with a worried frown.
"Makoto-chan, you know we all are. Yes Takeo has worked harder than any of us for this concert but..." Isei trailed off guiltily. But he's not the star and he never will be, I suddenly thought, realising that Isei was jealous. Makoto opened his mouth to speak but Yaito cut him off.
"Drop it. It's a few days away, anyway. Takeo might feel better by then." Isei pursed his lips and shrugged stiffly.
"I... I can do it," stated Takeo, a wavering smile on his pale lips. Before he could get another word in sideways every other boy was shouting different things.
"No, you can't!" "Yes! We can still do it!" "Is that really a good idea?" "Will there be girls there?"
"Enough!" shouted Takeo, covering his ears. "Isei, take me to the hospital." Makoto cocked his head sideways and was about to, probably, object, when Takeo grabbed on to Isei's arm and heaved himself to stand. Without really realising, I hurried forwards and let him lean heavily on me.
"Do you want me to come?" I asked him. He smiled gently and shook his head.
"You have to keep everything in control here!" I giggled and smirked at Makoto. He did a double take and crossed his arms moodily.
"Okay well, when do you think you two will be back?" I looked at Isei as I spoke.
Isei shrugged offhandedly as he led the way out of the room. "I have no idea honestly." I nodded in acceptance and listened to Yaito and Li talk behind us.
"Were you there?"
"Ah, no," replied Li. "I was the first to arrive, though."
Yaito lowered his voice. "Why are you two lying about what happened?"
"I'm not," hissed Li angrily. "Why would I?"
"Oh, I don't know, maybe something to do with the fact-."
"Guys, what're you two arguing about?" interrupted Makoto cheerfully. He obviously hasn't heard the rest of the conversation, I thought with slight amusement. Li simply let out a harsh sigh and Yaito stayed silent.
Once we had descended the stairs, Isei went ahead and I helped Takeo to the car. Makoto, Yaito and Li stayed inside after giving words and actions of encouragement.
"Remember, the statistics of people dying in hospitals are low - but sometimes the doctors themselves are the murderers and they give you an overdose so..." Makoto trailed off when he saw Takeo turn even paler than before. He scratched his neck with a awkward smile and went into the kitchen.
"Take care Takeo-chan," I said as I hugged him tight. He grinned and looked up at me from his seat in the car.
"You too, and don't let the boys do anything crazy." I managed to cough up a laugh. I sure as hell hope I can restrain them.
"I'll try," I promised. I waved as the car drove off, and stood watching it until it disappeared in the distance.

I walked into the kitchen after coming inside and raised my eyebrows when I saw the table set and the three remaining boys sitting in their places with expectant looks plastered on their faces.
"We read the list," stayed Li.
"It said you made dinner!" exclaimed Makoto happily.
"You did make it, right?" asked Yaito. My eyes widened in shock and I looked down at my hand.
"Ah... Y-yes!" I choked out. Why am I so nervous? "I'll go order it!"
Makoto fist pumped the air dramatically and jumped up, sending a fork flying towards Yaito's face who ducked and glared at him.
"Yay!" cheered the still happy black-haired boy. "Take away take away! Isei never let's us get them, I'll help order."
"Me too!" yelled Li as he ran to Makoto's side. Yaito looked on in relative awe until he scrambled to us too.
"I want to help," he said quietly, suddenly blushing then hurrying past me. Makoto and Li pushed each other around trying to get out of the door first until Makoto was sent tumbling into the wall and Li dashed away. Quick on his heels was his opponent, and I was left in the kitchen pretty shocked.
"It could have gone worst, I guess..." I said, dazed, as I followed them out.
