JUNGKOOK wasn't sure what to say to that so he decided on saying nothing since Taehyung had gone back to eating anyway. He didn't want this date- no it wasn't a date, Taehyung had a boyfriend for fucks sake- anyway Jungkook didn't want the atmosphere to become awkward so instead of beginning a conversation like any normal human would do- He started rambling nonstop.
Quite quickly a smile started playing on Taehyung's lips, finding it oddly adorable how the younger tried avoiding any awkward tension by basically spouting nonsense. He was rambling about some skating incident that had happened a few days ago and went on about how lonely Jimin often was and how Jin was almost never home because he was providing for the both of them.
"Will Jin be angry with you for having breakfast with me?", Taehyung asked, suddenly nervous. He really didn't want to come between Jungkook's friendships. It was weird how they both knew Jin. Jungkook was friends with him and Taehyung totally wasn't.
"I don't really care at the moment. I'm kinda mad at him for doing all those things to you", Jungkook shrugged, biting into a piece of pancake, "I've known him ever since Jimin moved in with him, maybe some months ago. Apparently they were college buddies until Jin quit his studies to start this small café. Jin took Jimin in when he wasn't capable of studying anymore".
"How come?", the redhead asked confused. Jimin seemed quite capable to work or study. He quickly saw the younger's expression fall.
"Uhm... Jimin was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. Since his dad died because of cancer when he was younger and his mom has been depressed ever since, Jimin didn't really feel like telling her. He has been getting treatment in secret, Jin and I supporting him of course. All his money went to the treatment and he's been living of Jin's money for the past year, leaving him with a huge feeling of guilt. His last treatment is soon luckily".
Jungkook ended his explanation with a small smile, seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Jimin was getting better and he could finally find a job. Jungkook has been thinking of getting a small job too to help his hyung to get money quicker.
He was brought out of his thinking when a larger hand was placed on his own. When he looked up he was surprised by the sympathy evident in the older's eyes.
"That must've been hard", he spoke softly. Jungkook nodded, trying to avert his gaze but he was pulled in by the other's soft stare.
"And hearing you talk like that... Jin seems like quite the selfless person", Taehyung sighed, taking his hand back, "I don't understand how he can change so much if Yoongi is mixed with it".
"I don't understand either. He's usually a very nice and sweet guy. He must be very in love with your boyfriend", Jungkook muttered, leaning his chin on his hand.
Taehyung hummed and sipped from his chocolate milk, finishing his food quickly. The pair soon had their bill paid and were making their way out of the café, Jin watching them go with a glare on his face.
The rain had finally stopped and both boys stood on the sidewalk, not knowing what their next plan was. Jungkook really wanted to spend more time with the pretty older but he wasn't sure if Taehyung wanted the same.
"I'm not sure if I want to go home alone", Taehyung sighed, stuffing his hands inside his jeans pockets.
"Okay", Jungkook nodded, "I could uh always come with you?"
The redhead hummed.
"Are you scared Yoongi will show up again?"
Taehyung gulped, nodding this time.
"I know it's a pretty stupid fear since he's basically my boyfriend and we should really talk things out but I also don't want to face him because I d-don't want t-to get h-hurt...", Taehyung choked on his words, tears streaming down his face, "Th-things are such a m-mess".
Jungkook quickly pulled the older closer and hugged him, letting Taehyung wet his shirt with his tears. He didn't care if Jin could see them through the window. He didn't care passersby looked at them strangely. Taehyung was hurt and he didn't want the older to go through it alone.
"I'll come with you", Jungkook whispered, shushing the older, "You don't have to be scared. He won't be able to hurt you".
These words seemed to affect the redhead since his hiccups and cries died down.
"O-Okay", he sniffled, wiping his eyes dry. The older took Jungkook's hand in his and pulled him towards his flat, not caring about how holding hands with the younger made him feel so nice. He shouldn't feel like this if he was ever planning on fixing things with Yoongi.
