Chapter 7

I heard the front door open and then close. My heart jumped out of my chest as I ran down the stairs and fell into my mom's arms. "Hey, baby." Mom laughed slightly before letting go of me. "I was so scared, Mom, I thought you weren't gonna come back." I confessed. "I'm so sorry. I just couldn't deal with your father for any longer. The arguments got bigger and bigger and I needed a break." She admitted.

"It's okay, Mom. I forgive you." I picked up one of her bags and helped her take them up the stairs. "So where is everyone?" Mom asked. "I think the boys are in Dylan's bedroom." I shrugged. "I'll just go and see them." She smiled and walked out of the room.

There was a knock on the door so I went down to answer it. "Is she here?" Cody asked me. "Yes!" I squealed and hugged him as he came into the house. Cody placed me on the floor and kicked off his shoes before walking into the kitchen and then coming back out. "Where is she?" "Why are you so excited to meet my mom?" I laughed.

"Because someone this beautiful has to come from someone even more beautiful." He came over and tucked my hair behind my ear as he said it. "Isn't this cute?!" I heard Mom as she came down the stairs. "Mom!" I covered my face. Cody turned around and smiled at Mom.

"Hello, Mrs Taylor." He greeted her. "Please, call me Charleen. Or just Char if that's easier." She smiled and gave him a hug. "Coco!" Drake cheered in my mom's arms. "What's up, Buddy?" Cody gave him a high five. "Mom, I'm going out." Dylan came down the stairs. "Where are you going?" "I was gonna go to the pub." "Have fun!" Mom smiled.

"Don't get too drunk." I said under my breath. Dylan shot me a glare and then pushed past us and went out the front door. "So what's with you guys?" Mom asked as we went out the backdoor. Cody and I looked at each other. "We're just friends." I shrugged and sat by the pool with Mom while Cody sat in the sandpit with Drake.

"Although, if it's okay with you I'd like to take Delilah out to dinner." Cody asked my mom for permission. "That's absolutly fine with me." She looked at me with a massive grin. "When's this date going on then?" "Tonight, if that's okay?" He looked over at us again. Mom looked at me once again as well.

"Uh- I- I've got nothing to wear." I looked down at my feet. "I'll take you shopping." Mom nudged me and winked playfully. I giggled and nodded. "Okay, tonight." I comfirmed with a nod. "I'll go get Drake dressed and then we can go straight away." Mom said and got up before walking inside with Drake on her hip.

"What are we gonna do tonight then?" I went and sat on Cody's lap in the sandpit. "You'll just have to wait and see." He rested his chin on my shoulder and drew things in the sand. "What are you gonna do while me and Mom are out?" "I've got a first date to plan." He kissed my ear.

While Mom and I were shopping we baught loads of new things for not only me but her too. I had an amazing outfit for tonight. It's a black dress with a very low cut v-neck and you can see the whole of my back until just above my butt. The dress came to the middle of my thigh and I had black stilettos with silver heels and a silver clutch to wear with it.

Cody was coming to pick me up at seven so I had a shower and the dried my hair. I applied my makeup, winged eye liner and red lipstick as well as all the normal things. I curled my hair and then pulled it all around onto one shoulder before slipping my heels on and putting my phone and some other things into my clutch and then going downstairs.

"Look at my beautiful daughter." Mom beamed as I went into the kitchen where she was feeding my little brother. "Lilah!" Drake smiled at me and then put some more food in his mouth. I laughed and kissed his head. "Cody's gonna be here in a bit so I'll see you later." "I want you home no later than eleven." "Alrighty." I smiled.

"You have to tell me every little detail." She told me, I nodded. "I will do that." "Do you think he's gonna spend millions of money on you?" "Mom, he doesn't flash his money around. I don't want him to do that either. It's our first date, who says I'll even kiss him?" "I don't want nothing going on in that bedroom of yours." She tapped my nose.
