"White to symbolise how pure and innocent you are?" Cody joked as I came outside. "Maybe." I smiled and sat on a sunbed. "No, come in the water with me?!" "I wanna get a tan." I dismissed. "You can get a tan while we're in California." "You can swim while we're in California." "Lilah?!" "Cody?!" I copied his childlike ways.

"You're a meanie!" He splashed me. "You're gonna regret that, Simpson." I said as I got up. "Come get me." Cody smirked as I came towards the edge of the pool. "I'm going to drown you." I warned and jumped into the pool before splashing around while trying to get him under the water.

"Cody!" I screamed as he grabbed my body and spun us round in circles. "You still think you can drown me?" Cody teased. "Yes." I giggled and wrapped myself around him. Cody wrapped his arms around me too. "I don't wanna go home," I maoned "I wanna stay here with you." "But we have to go home." Cody laughed.

"Jake's still gonna be there when we get back, right?" I asked. "I think so. He's here for a week didn't you say?" "Yes." "Well then yeah he will be." "Okay, good." I smiled. "Hmm." Cody let go of me and I slid down him into the water. "What?" I asked. "Nothing, I jus-" "You see him as a threat to us." I read his mind.

"I'm gonna soak up some more sun." I smiled at him and then got out of the pool. "I'm sorry but I can't help how I feel." "I'm not mad." I shrugged. "You're not happy." "But I'm not mad." "Whatever." He sighed. "This is what I mean." I said as I sat up. "We can't manage one day without an argument." I pointed out.

"I wasn't arguing." "Cody, if you can't see that this is how arguments start then you're blind." "You need to learn to leave things alone." "You need to trust your own best friend." "Why would I trust him when he has a crush on you and is lying to you?! He's making you believe that I'm lying to you, I'm pretty sure you're the blind one." "Yep. Cool." I got up and went inside.

"Yep, cool? Is that how you win arguments?" Cody followed me into the villa with a towel wrapped around him. "This isn't how this is supposed to be! Can't you realize that?!" "So you don't wanna fight for us?" "I didn't say that." "Well you didn't say you do." "How do you expect us to be together when all we do is fight?"

"Because we're fighting for us. If we didn't care, we wouldn't fight. We're fighting for each other." "It's tiring." I sighed. "You need to learn to pick your fights, you can't pick up on every little thing or this won't work. No I don't like the way Jake is tricking you into thinking I'm someone I'm not but I can't stop him so just leave him to it. I love you." "What if he's right, though?" I looked at Cody.

I watched as he clenched his jaw and his fists tightened, his eyes turned hard. He was silent for a while as he tried to calm himself down. "If you think he's right, what are you doing still with me?" He asked in the calmest way possible. "I don't think he's right." "Well then don't fucking say it!" He shouted and punched the wall, causing my body to jolt.

"I- I'm sorry." I managed to whisper. "I think you need to go outside and stay there for a while. I don't want to see you." He said before leaving the room. I flinched as the bedroom door slammed behind him and then followed his instructions.

I fell asleep on the sunbed to be woken up by the sound of the pool water. I slowly sat up and watched Cody as he messed around in the water by himself. I laughed slightly when he accidently splashed himself in the face. The sound of my laugh caught Cody's attention.

"Sorry." I appologized quietly and then looked away. "I'm sorry for shouting at you. It wasn't necessary." Cody said. "But I annoy-" "Annoyed or not, I shouldn't be the reason you seemed so frightened. The look in your eyes said everything." "I just want you to know, I don't believe what Jake said." "You did and part of you still is worried that he might be telling the truth." Cody read me.
