            Chapter Five

Sophia hadn’t got to the dance studio yesterday and was dreading to enter now, it was mid-afternoon and the thought of seeing Annabel made her skin crawl. She hated that woman with everything she had. And since Maxwell had forbidden her to practice there was no real reason for her to even show up.

When she opened the door she was greeted with the unholy sights of Annabel being hugged by a strange, yet incredibly handsome man that she had never seen before. He was dressed in a dark red T-shirt that stretched across his back and tight black leggings that even gave a stronger impression that he was well toned in every place.

“Annabel!” he said while wrapping his arms around her waist. “Good morning to you! Do you always practice this much?”

“Yes, you should know this by now, so please let go of me so I can continue my stretching you’re in the way.” He didn’t, he merely continued to hold her, smiling like an over exhilarated child getting to hold his new puppy for the first time. “Dammit Camron get off me already, I can’t stretch like this.” When he didn’t listen again she kicked him in the leg and spoke in German. “Get off now unless you want me to brake you damn leg!”

Sophia understood what she said for she also had to go to Germany with her partner for the same performance that Annabel and Andria did only different roles.

He finally did and sighed in disappointment. “You’re no fun you know that, but can’t be helped, you practice with the little one, there’s something I have to talk about with our teacher.”

“I’m not that little!” Maria said in protest. “I’m just a bit shorter than the rest of you guys that’s all…”

Annabel smiled and patted the top of the girl’s head. “Don’t take it too heart, I used to be the same height as you when I was your age, you’ll hit your growth spurt soon enough.”

Sophia just stared at her and Anna then caught her looking before smiling, but it wasn’t one of those kind ones she would give to the other dancers or Maria, this one was cold, along with a chilling gaze that made her stop in her tracks.

            What the hell was this?

Ever since Annabel came back whenever she looked towards Sophia her smile would turn cold, her eyes void of life it was as if she knew something. Don’t tell me…! She thought in shock as Annabel then turned away to help Maria stretch. Don’t tell me that she knows what Johnathan and I did!?

“You look uneasy today.” Her partner Johnathan said with his same old grin. “Did something happen?”

She looked at Annabel for a long moment before answering. “Do you think Annabel might know what we’ve done?”

            He frowned. “No why?”

“Whenever our eyes meet she looks at me coldly.”

“Uh, earth to Sophia! You’ve done that to her in the past, in fact you still do. And she’s done it to you before, when she came back and started dancing again.”

She thought about it for a moment. “About that, don’t you think it’s somewhat strange that she’s suddenly able to dance again only after three months of rehab?”

Now he was quite, then he shrugged. “What does it matter?”

“I suppose it doesn’t,” she then changed the subject. “Who was the guy that was molesting her?”
