SONG - "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars
Blaise POV
Dylan walked back down the hall, an extra swing in her hips.
Damn.
And to think she actually wanted to kiss me.
I had to smile. She instantly made me happy, and I knew what I had planned for later was definitely going to pay off.
I fidgeted with the hem of my shirt as I waited for Matt to give me the signal. He was the poor bastard who I'd had to force to help with this last minute arrangement.
"She's coming," he whispered. I nodded in reply and felt around to make sure I hadn't forgotten it.
I heard her talking to her friend Jamie about this guy called Drew.
"I like him... he seems really nice," I heard her say. My fists clenched in anger at the thought of her liking another guy.
"Yeah, I definitely approve," I heard Jamie reply. "You have to help me get ready for our date on Saturday night, because babe I'm going to be pulling out the big guns!"
I sighed in relief when I realised it was Jamie who liked this Drew fella.
Just then I heard the beginning of 'You're The One That I Want' start to play, I stood on top of the lunch table in the centre of the cafeteria, effectively getting everyone's attention.
Dylan and Jamie walked in, and as soon as my eyes met Dylan's I couldn't hide the huge smile on my face. She dropped her bag and covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes widening when she realised what was happening.
She saw the rose petals on the floor and followed them until she was in front of the table I was standing on. I jumped off the table to stand in front of her. I sung a couple of lines of the chorus before dropping down onto one knee and pulling out the small box in my pocket.
"Oh God Blaise... You have really outdone yourself," Dylan chuckled, looking around at students filming, then back to me.
"Babe, I'm Blaise James. I don't do normal." She blushed, but covered it up with a small giggle.
"So, Dylan..."
"Ivy," she filled in for me.
"Dylan Ivy Walters, with you pretend marry me?" I asked, and opened up the small box, which revealed a simple rose gold ring with small diamonds around the outside. My mother had helped me pick it out, and even though it was only for a school project, Dylan deserved everything better than great. Not to mention my mother had been teasing me about liking her.
"Of course I will Blaise," she answered. I smiled and slid the ring on her finger.
"Because babe, I don't want to fail this class," she smirked at me, but it quickly turned into a full-blown laugh when I started tickling her sides for teasing me.
When she finally calmed down, she gave me a look that I couldn't decipher.
"Thank you Blaise. You really didn't have to do all of this for me you know," she said while wrapping her arms around my neck.
"I know. But I really wanted to," I replied, leaning down so that our noses were touching.
She smiled. Her eyes crinkling at the sides, cute dimples in her cheeks and pearly white teeth shining in the light.
Goddamn it was beautiful.
"What are you doing to me," I whispered before claiming her with a scorching kiss.
And you know what.
She kissed me back.
