"Lorcan, where are you?" I hurriedly started the car, exiting the parking within minutes.

"I'm at the Risanà hospital. Please come fast." His voice held raw pain and I stepped on the pedal. "I'm on my way, love. Don't worry." I cooed, hoping it would calm him down even by the slightest amount.

After he ended the call, saying that a doctor was calling him, I texted Zayn saying sorry, that the car was needed and it was an emergency.

God I hope Lorcan is okay.

I walked into the lobby of the hospital, eyes searching wildly for the familiar platinum blonde haired boy that I had come to care for so much.

"Zara!" A shout startled me and I was instantly engulfed in the biggest bear hug possible. Lorcan's tall frame bent down slightly to match my height and he held me to his chest for the longest time possible.

I rubbed my hand soothingly on his back, whispering words of encouragement in his ears as he kept his hold on me. I pulled away, grabbing him by shoulders and staring at his red blotchy eyes.

"Lorcan, babe, you're wasting away. Have you eaten?" He shook his head at my question. I gave him a look before grabbing his hands and following the directions to the cafeteria.

"You need to eat bubs. Your mom will be okay. She is your mother after all." I teased playfully and I was thankful that a small smile grew on his face.

"Now come on, let's get some food in your tummy." I pulled his face down to mine and placed a kiss on his forehead.

"Mr.Smith, if you would please follow me." The friendly middle-aged nurse smiled politely as she instructed Lorcan and I to enter the room his mom was kept it. His grip on my hand had not once faltered ever since I came in here.

Even when I met his beautiful sisters, and strikingly similar looking father, his hand was intertwined with mine and I was completely okay with it. My friend needed me right now and I'd be there for him.

"Is she okay?" He asked, nervously twiddling with my fingers.

The good news was that his mother was stable. We had gotten the news as we came back from the cafeteria where I made sure he had a proper meal.

The nurse smiled warmly before nodding as she opened the door. As we walked in, I saw a blonde haired woman on the bed, her body clad in the patient's gown and several machine wires and IV tubes clipped to her arm and legs.

As soon as he saw his angel-like mother wide awake on the bed, his grip on my hand loosened before he ran to her side, dropping to his knees and holding onto his mom for dear life.

The room gained more people when his dad and sisters walked in, all having a moment and I felt like I was interrupting. So I quietly exited the room, letting them have their peaceful moment.

I pulled out my phone from my pocket, eyes widening at the amount of texts and missed calls from Zayn, Harry, Noah and Louis. God, Zayn must've told them I rushed off.

I sent a text to my group chat saying that Lorcan's mom was in an accident and that he called me here. After replying to all of their condolences, I realised I had yet to inform Harry.

Just as I was about to press call, I heard my name being called from behind. Once again, I saw Lorcan rush towards me and hug me tight.

"Hey, you're okay now big boy." I giggled, pulling away from the embrace. A big smile appeared on his face as he rubbed his eyes with his sleeve. "Thank you so much Zara. You came all the way over here and stuck by my crying self. I'm so thankful." He sniffled.

What is with me and emotional boys?

"What are friends for Lorcan?" I ruffled his hair and his smile got brighter. "Let's go, my mom wants to meet you."

I shyly entered the room where all of his family members were present. I did feel a little out of place at first but when his mum embraced me suddenly, I felt myself relax.

"You must be Zara." She held me at arm's length. "Thank you for being here for my son. You have no idea how grateful I am. Please always be there for him." She wiped her own tears away from her ocean blue eyes.

Huh...must run in the family.

"Ma'm, Lorcan's a really good friend of mine. I'd do anything for him." I reassured her, my brown eyes boring info hers.

After embracing me one last time, she finally let go and not before long, she was fast asleep; her body still worn out.

"Let's get you home." Lorcan smiled tiredly, the bags evident under his eyes.

"I can drive myself, loser." I rolled my eyes. "Get some sleep tonight." I poked his chest.

When I got home, it was around 8 at night. I made my way upstairs to my room. When the lights flickered on, I was startled by the figure sitting on my bed.

"Harry?"
