My cut didn't take long to heal up. In a few days I was as good as new. I was relieved to finally be allowed to walk around by myself without someone hovering near me in case I collapsed. I was enjoying some tea in the library when Prince Raynor and Eugenia walked in.
"Hey, Orion!" Eugenia greeted. "How are you on this fine morning?"
I looked towards Prince Raynor for her unusual cheeriness. He was beaming as he took the seat across from me. I put my teacup down and stared at them suspiciously. "Alright, what's going on here? Both of you are acting weird."
Raynor laughed. "Guess there's no beating around the bush with Rion. Eugenia and I are getting married tomorrow and-"
"And I want you to be my maid of honor! You're welcome!" Eugenia interrupted. "We wanted to wait until you got better. After you came for us and helped us out I felt like I made a wonderful friend. I want to thank you by giving you this opportunity."
"Aw, I would be honored to be your maid of honor. Thank you so much for considering me!" I thanked her and gave her a hug. She smiled and held my hands.
"There's so much for us to do! We have to get you fitted for a dress, pick out flowers for your hair, get your makeup done, get some shoes for you, and make sure you're all cleaned up for the wedding. Let's get moving!" Eugenia listed before trying to pull me into the hallways.
Raynor stopped her. "There's time. There's plenty of time before the wedding. Let's not pressure our new friend. First we can get her fitted and then while she's fitted we can pick out flowers and shoes. After that she can take a break."
I was led through the halls to a fitting room and I cringed at all the dresses. They were all very bright and glittery, full at the bottom, and had a tight corset around the torso. Raynor noticed my reaction and put the dresses away in a closet. "I didn't think those dresses suited you anyways."
"I'll got get the flowers." Eugenia left the room.
I stood in front of the large mirrors and let Prince Raynor measure me. "You know how to do this kind of stuff?"
"I was stuck in that tower for a long time. You learn to pick up a few hobbies. Turn."
I turned to face him and he measured my chest. He grabbed a notebook from a nearby table and wrote some numbers down. He frowned at the numbers. "This may sound awkward but I'm going to have to ask you to remove your shirt for a more accurate reading."
Nodding, I slipped off my blouse so he could take more precise measurements. I wasn't particularly embarrassed about my body especially when there was a logical reason for it.
Eugenia stepped back inside and held up a basket of different species of flowers. She didn't seem to mind that I was topless at all. "What are your favorite flowers?"
"White peonies." I answered. "They were my mother's favorite and she always decorated my room with them."
"Sounds nice. I don't know a think about flowers except for the fact that most of them are pretty." She confessed. She held up some white peonies to my face. "They match your eyes really nicely."
Raynor gestured for me to take a seat while he rummaged through some fabrics in a chest. Eugenia continued to show me flowers, holding them up to my face and hers to determine which flowers suits her best. The white peony was tucked behind my ear. "Yeah, I think that's the best flower for you."
"Rion, are you in here?" The door began to open and Mun-Wah stepped in. At one look at my appearance and he covered his eyes with his hands. "Ah! S-Sorry! I'll come back later!"
