I stepped back into the ballroom and scanned the crowd for Tianos. Princess Ava was dancing with another prince. Hopefully her next victim wasn't Tianos.
I weaved my way around room, bumping into and occasionally finding myself in a conversation with a few individuals. No matter where I looked, I still couldn't find Tianos. He must be somewhere else. I tapped on a servant's shoulder. "Excuse me, but have you see Prince Tianos anywhere?"
The servant beamed and held a tray of eclairs in front of me. They were plump with cream and beautifully decorated with chocolate "He's down in the kitchen. He's helping the chef decorate some of the desserts. Aren't they gorgeous, Knight Orion?"
I took one from the plate and took a bite. "Simply delightful. Thank you."
Leaving the ballroom wasn't as difficult as trying to just navigate through it. I left through the back entrance towards the kitchen. I could smell baked good and an array of different delicacies. Laughter rung out through the halls and some chefs began to leave the kitchen.
"That Prince sure is something with a whisk. I never seen someone make whipped cream so fast. He' even kind enough to handle the last of the prep! What a prince. We could use a prince like him in the kitchen and in the kingdom." They complimented.
Peeking into the kitchen, I saw Tianos piping more cream into the eclairs. I cleared my throat and he looked up. "Ah, Rion. I'm just helping out in the kitchen for a bit. It's much more fun down here than it is up where the party is. Princess Ava also hurt my toes so it a nice break from all of that."
I chuckled and strolled over. "It's fine. I was just wondering where you were is all. The servers and chefs are really impressed with your culinary skills."
"Well, I'd hope so. It would be devastating if a group of people told me that my cooking sucked. Have you tried an eclair yet?" He asked, offering one to me.
"I have tried one but I'll have another one no problem." I took it. Tianos smiled at me as he noticed my happy expression. "They really are delicious."
He looked back down and continued to pipe. "Thank you. That really means a lot coming from you."
I put my elbows on the counter and watched him work. The way he filled the dough with cream was smooth and quick. The final product was so pretty that it almost seemed fake. I admired how graceful he worked. Tianos seemed to be enjoying it too.
"How do you do it?" I questioned. "How do you make sure that there isn't too little or too much cream? And how do you make it all peaked like that? It looks like flowers are coming out."
Tianos waved his hand for me to come over and watch closer. I stepped in front of him and felt his arms come around me. I took the piping bag filled with whipped cream and let him put his hands over mine.
"You're going to apply pressure to the bag right here and keep this top part twisted around that way the cream will move down as you pipe it out. Keep the pressure consistent and lightly twirl the end around to create the swirl and flower look." He instructed.
He guided me through the piping process but I could barely focus. My back was pressed against his chest and I could feel his breath on my ear. His gentle voice sent shivers down my spine.
Man, I really am in love with this guy.
"Hey! This looks like a pretty good eclair to me! Good job!"
I snapped back to reality and saw the dessert I just completed. I suddenly felt a sudden joy and pride in my work, even if Tianos was really the one who did it.
He picked up the finished eclair and took a big bite and finished the dessert. "Deliciously sweet."
I noticed that he had a little bit of whipped cream on his bottom lip. "You have some leftover cream right here." I pointed to my own lip. "You know what? Let me just get it for you."
