We were greeted by almost all the tribe members when we woke up and finished up the rest of the packing. They shook our hands and wished us a safe trip. I didn't see Pohan or his father anywhere however. I wished that they would at least see us off but we had to get going. We already spent so much time waiting for the rain to stop and waiting for me to recover.
I hopped on my horse and looked towards the other princes who were ready to go. I flicked my wrists and kicked the side of my horse gently. She began to trot away, the princes close behind.
As we started going down the mountain, I noticed a small speck standing on one of the cliff sides. I took a chance and waved my hand. Pohan waved goodbye back. I was actually gonna miss that kid.
I rode my horse towards the front along with Blaise since he was the one that had the map. The others behind us chatted and some rode in silence, enjoying the weather. I wish I could've joined them but a knight was to always keep alert. I looked over at the map that Blaise was reading.
"So . . ." I tried to strike up a conversation. "What sorts of inventions have you been working on back home?"
Blaise seemed a little startled by the fact that I was trying to talk to him. "Oh, um, I invented a machine that cuts wood and places them on a log pile. I've also tried to work with gears and creating new types of clockwork. Nothing too fancy though."
"Neato. Besides inventing, what other subjects do you like to participate in?" I continued to ask.
"Reading and studying. That's really just about it but occasionally I do like to go outside and sit in my rose garden. I like to write everything I see and notice." He answered.
"Oh, are we talking about hobbies? Of course our nerdy friend here would take his spare time studying." Aries joined in. "I like to swim and play with other kids. They're pretty fun to be around and they're quite entertaining. It's kinda cute."
Snowen scoffed. "You know that you're still a kid too, right?"
Aries stuck his tongue out at him. "Yeah? And what does Prince Ice like to do for fun? Do you even have fun?"
Snowen frowned. "I just happen to partake in literature and practice magic. I also take care of the many animals around the kingdom and clean if I wish to do so."
"Really? I wouldn't think animals wanted to be around you since we barely do." Aries teased. Everyone suppressed their laughs while Snowen frowned even more. He huffed and turned his head away from Aries who was grinning from ear to ear.
Jasem calmed his laughing fit down and breathed in. "I like to dance and sit in the garden back home. I do miss my pet tiger. We would hang around the fountain and play. He must miss me a lot right now."
Tianos quirked his brow. "You have a pet tiger? My parents would've lost their minds if I even asked. I can agree that dancing in fun though and I love listening to the music on the streets. I also miss being able to cook and bake. It was tough work, but seeing the look on people's faces as they bit into something I created made me happy."
"I didn't know you could cook. If I was caught in the palace kitchen I would be sent away." Cinder responded. "I was more interested in the politics and exploring my own kingdom when I had the chance. I always liked listening to other people's stories and seeing what I could do to help."
Mun-Wah finally broke his silence. "I know how it feels to want to help other people's problems. To fight for justice and for your people and to dedicate yourself to your kingdom's politics is very honorable. I don't really do much other than that."
"Seriously? Mun-Wah, you are a martial artist with great teaching skills." Aries complimented. "You're telling me that you don't do much? That's full of crap. You do a whole lot."
