"If you don't mind me asking, why are you going into the contest?" asked Mia.
"I've lost someone close. With this spell, I can bring them back and continue my journey. Since I told you, shouldn't you tell me your reason?." answered Altair.
After seeing the look on Altair's face, Mia regretted the decision of asking him.
"I, like you, lost someone close. There name was *insert name here. They meant a lot to me. Seeing them die was something I almost couldn't bear. If I could bring them back, I will. With this spell, I can also help others learn this spell and help them through their troubles." Mia replied looking a little down.
Altair knew what it had felt like to lose someone very close. He wanted to help her, but still leaned more toward reviving Lilith more than anything. He didn't want to get too attached to Mia. So Altair decided that Mia was going down after the tournament. He didn't need another person to protect or watch them die.
The two went through the front gate. They were greeted by the reception. Apparently, they were the last two to arrive. A tall man in a black suit arrived in front of them. The man had a scar that looked like a X on his forehead.
"Hello, I'm X and I will commentate the tournament," said the man.
Mia laughed. "Are you named that because of your scar?"
Altair and X looked at Mia emotionlessly.
"Ok, I'll shut up now," added Mia.
The commentator led them to an elevator. He pressed the last button, it was in the shape of a skull. The skull sent shivers down Mia's spine. It reminded her too much of that night. They slowly descended through the floors.
5...6...7...8...9...10
They arrived at their destination. X led the two to the arena. There were about 150 challenges waiting, quietly. X left them there and went the opposite direction. Altair and Mia just stood there, sizing up each person. Most of the challengers were from the Blue Shark Army. the minorities were just lowly bandits. 75 teams they needed to beat.
X appeared on a pandemonium.
He began to explain, "This will be a battle royal. This tournament is sponsored by the Blue Shark Kingdom." Many of the challengers here, cheered. "Information of the spell will be given after the fight."
"Killing is allowed," Altair grinned. He was going to do everything to win that spell.
"BEGIN"
Nobody moved. Altair was the first one to strike. He grabbed a handful of hairs and threw them on the ground. In a few second, over 50 of Altair's clones were standing beside him. They all had their own staff. In just a few minutes over half of the challengers had been demolished. Altair unsummoned his clones, he was taking the rest by himself. Everyone else was too afraid to stop him.
Mia was horrified. All those poor people. She was just going to have to kill them. Now that she had seen what Altair was capable of, she was afraid. It was just like that night. When the child killed all of her guards. And the red monster that killed her three brothers. Putting those memories aside, she tried to pinpoint where Altair was.
Finally Mia found him. Altair was soaked in blood. His eyes unforgiving. They were cold, like they had seen hell and came back. She heard someone sneaking up on her. Mia freaked, she had been to concentrated on Altair. Now she was going to die. Just as she closed her eyes waiting for the blow, it didn't come. All she felt was a splatter of something soaking her face.
She felt some someone holding her chin up. She opened her eyes. She saw the red eyes of Altair, those cold unforgiving eyes.
"You should be more careful, princess," Altair said as he wiped away some blood that was on her face.
Mia reddend. She looked down, Mia couldn't bear the look of those, cold crimson eyes. Altair's whole body was covered in blood. His staff was dripping blood. It matched the color of his eyes. Those cold unforgiving eyes.
Just as fast as he came, he vanished.
Next thing Mia knew, there was a huge explosion. Screams of pain could be coming. Following with screams of fear. Mia spotted Altair in the middle of the arena. She walked up to him. All around her, pieces of bones and organs. Blood covered over 50% of the arena. She stepped on something and it was squishy. She looked down and saw someone's eyeball. She did the only thing she could, scream. The Mia felt something grab her ankle. She looked down with the face of someone who was going to puke.
There, near her leg, was someone with half their body missing.
Whispering out, "Kill me, Kill me please. He's a demon, run, RUN"
The man let go and started picking at his visible intestines. Trying to make death come faster. Mia continued walking closer to Altair. With each step, her face become more grossed out. When she finally reached Altair, Mia looked closer and saw that in one of Altair's held a heart. And the other one held a liver. He had taken those from someone alive. Mia lost it. She threw up on the ground. Clenching her stomach as images of the heart, liver, bones, and the man appeared in her head.
Mia hears running coming from behind her. She turns around to see something that looked like a brute running toward her. Mia has no chance of surviving that. Altair was too far away this time. Mia knew this was the end. The end of her life. The end of her journey. The end of her revenge. The end of the lineage to the White Tiger Kingdom. The brute swings his mighty sword, ready to chop off Mia's head.
And then...
