Jazz was driving three obnoxious 14-year-olds on a 15 hour car ride. It hadn't taken much to convince Dash to come. Jazz was sitting in the front seat next to Dash in his usual Letterman jacket. He was flirting up a storm with Jazz, and Jazz was about ready to punch him in the face.
Tucker and Sam were in the back together, stuffing their faces with whatever snacks they had back there and talking about anything but Danny.
"So, where is your little brother?" Dash asked, confused as to why Danny wasn't there.
"He's sick and couldn't come. We didn't want to waste his ticket, because Sam would have had an environmental crisis." Jazz sighed.
"I would not!" Sam objected.
"You would." Tucker agreed with Jazz.
"Hey, Dash, you brought a suit, right? Like a really nice suit." Sam asked, changing the subject.
"Duh. I also brought some other clothes." Dash smirked. "I'm not THAT dumb."
"But your still dumb..." Tucker mumbled, and Jazz had to control her laughter.
"Let me guess, you brought a muscle tee?" Sam rolled her eyes, unamused.
"How'd you know?" Dash was genuinely shocked.
"Gee Dash, I don't know, the fact that you keep flirting with Jazz or the fact your on the football team." Sam responded, sarcasm heavy in her voice.
"Whatever." Dash put his back to the seat.
Sam and Tucker broke out into laughter.
"Hey Jazz, did it hurt when you fell from heaven?" Dash smiled at her.
"No, Dash." Jazz said, annoyed. They had only been on the road an hour and she was already regretting it. She was also in a world of trouble when she got home. She hadn't exactly asked her parents permission to come on this trip. She'd simply left a note where she was certain her father would find it. In his jumpsuit drawer.
***5 hours later***
Jazz's left eye was twitching. Tucker and Sam had gotten into a heated argument about veggies and meat...again. Dash was watching the argument go down with intense interest.
"We don't NEED meat!" Sam protested.
"Meat makes you more powerful!" Tucker responded. They were starting to use the exact same explanations, and it was driving Jazz crazy.
"ENOUGH!" Jazz screamed at the top of her lungs. She pulled into a gas station for, you guessed it, gas. "You 3, go inside and get some snacks. Sam, can you get me some ear plugs?"
"Sure thing." All of them excited the car, Jazz filling up the gas tank.
Tucker, Sam, and Dash raced to the door. Sam won, but Dash was behind by a hair.
"You're fast, goth girl." Dash smirked, hardly panting.
"I try." Sam shrugged.
Tucker ran behind them, panting for his Techno-geek life.
"What took you so long, Tuck? All that meat making you slow?" Sam teased. Tucker glared at her, too exhausted to come up with a good comeback.
***9 more hours***
They had finally arrived in Gotham. Jazz drove up to the gates in her pink car. Sam handed the man at the gate their invitations. The man seemed to recognize Sam, and looked skeptically at the other three passengers. After a minute he nodded and let them through. They had all gotten changed at a gas station a few minutes ago. Sam was wearing a black dress that was edged with dark gray. She had dark eye-shadow, purple lipstick, black fingernails, and her hair was flat behind her back. She still had her steel-toed combat boots on, however, and a choker necklace.
Jazz had her red hair lightly curled. The blue dress she had went down to her ankles where she wore slightly darker heels. She had lightly applied make-up, but it was hard to tell.
Tucker wore a black tuxedo. He had a nice pair of shoes on, and a patterned tie.
Dash had a gray tuxedo with a plain blue tie that matched Jazz's dress almost too perfectly. They walked in and everyone except Sam gasped in amazement.
The halls led to an open room where many people wearing fancy clothing had gathered. They walked into that room. People were talking and laughing among one another.
"Sam Manson!" A man wearing a very expensive looking suit walked up to them.
"Mr. Benkley." Sam nodded.
"Whose this you've brought with you?" He gestured towards the group behind her.
"Oh, my parents and grandmother couldn't attend, so I brought them with me instead." Sam shrugged.
"A pleasure to meet your acquaintance." The man bowed before moving on.
A few moments after he left, a young boy around their age walked up to them.
"Hello, I'm Richard Grayson." He held out a hand. Sam shook it.
