After spending nearly the whole week at the hotel, there were only two days left. Batman had checked on Danny as he was patrolling for ghosts every night. He'd gotten an approximate time for the zeta beams to be finished. One month from now. He'd told the school a fake excuse, but told Danny he might want to begin working on some type of schooling. Naturally, when he'd told Sam and Tucker what he'd really been doing the whole time, they wanted to know every single detail. Dash was going to take Jazz out on a 'date,' depending on who you asked. Jazz mainly said yes because she could tell that I wanted some time to be with my two best friends.
Of course, I kept my promise to not tell any secret ID's. Today though, I got a very interesting call from Batman.
"It's finished." Batman spoke through the phone, although how he got my phone number was still a mystery.
"Really!" I leaped into the air, quite literally, and looked at Sam and Tucker. "Does that mean I can go back to Amity now?!" I smiled.
"Yes. You can either come to the Bat-cave and test it out, or you may go home with your sister and friends. It's up to you." Batman hung up without even saying goodbye. Rude.
"Guys, I'll meet you in Amity. Batman says the Zeta Beams are done, and he wants me to test it out." Okay, so I may have sort of lied a little, but to be honest, I didn't really want to be stuck in a full car, especially not a full car with Dash making flirty jokes at my sister.
"Wait, what?" Sam asked, shocked.
"Did you say Batman?" Tucker looked up from his PDA.
"Yeah, he wants me to test out my new transport thingy so I can get back to the league if the necessity arrives, or if I just want to say hi to the team." I explained.
"Wow, okay then." Tucker frowned. "So, you're just going to ditch us with the lovebirds for a while, then."
"Sorry guys, I have to try it. Plus, if I don't I won't know where it is!" I added.
"Fine, but you owe us big time." Sam glared.
"I'll...pay for Nasty Burger for a month." I decided.
"Great." Sam smirked.
"Works for me. Also, I recorded that so you can't back out. 31 times, that's how many times you have to pay." Tucker smirked.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"A month is roughly 31 days." Tucker deadpanned.
"Fine, whatever." I rolled my eyes, changing into Phantom and flying off towards the Bat-cave.
When I got there, Batman was sitting at the computer. "What's up?" I asked, floating behind him. Batman didn't seem surprised by the slightest.
"You know where the beam is, and you know what to do." Batman glared. I shrugged, flying off in the direction of the beam.
'Phantom; B09' The mechanical voice alerted as I was immediately zapped to Amity Park. I was in the alley just outside my house. Convenient. I walked inside. It was eerily quiet. When I walked into the lab, to my horror I saw...
