"I'm Richard Grayson." The strange boy smiled. He had black hair and blue eyes. Honestly, he reminded Sam a bit of Danny. "But I prefer Dick. "
Tucker sniffed the air. "There's...seafood?" Tucker looked skeptically at Sam and Dick. Dash smirked.
"Awesome dude!" Dash whisper-shouted.
"Wow...You have a great nose. The foods way over there." Dick pointed to the other end of the room, where sure enough, there were piles of seafood. There were crackers filled with crab, stuffed crawdads, prawns, and plenty of sushi. Sam sighed. There wasn't a thing that was worthy of her ultra recyclo-vegetarian diet.
"Just eat meat Sam. It's calling you." Tucker smirked.
"I'll eat meat when you eat Salad." Sam looked back at him.
"Fine, you win. For now." Tucker sighed.
"You don't eat meat?" Dick asked.
Dash had pulled Jazz, much to her distaste, towards the dance-floor where they were now slow dancing.
"Actually, I don't eat anything with a face on it, but yeah, meat fits in that categorie."
"Interesting." Dick nodded.
"Yeah. Hey, you're Bruce Wayne's adopted son, right?" Sam tilted her head.
"Uh, yeah...why?" Dick frowned.
"Well...My friend Danny Fenton," Dick froze at the name. "He wrote a letter saying he'd come here for some reason, but the problem is...he was sick before he came. And...we thought we'd lost him once, we can't lose him again." Sam pulled Tucker next to her as he came back with a mouthful of shrimp.
"Well, Danny's here for an educational opportunity. I can have him call you soon when I get back to school. He didn't want to come to the party without you guys, and so he stayed at home to get his work done."
"You chose Danny...for an education program?" Sam looked at him skeptically. "You do realize he's a straight C student and he is late for most of his classes, right?"
"Yeah, well...Bruce figured that he might have needed something to keep him from being distracted at school, whatever it is, and give him a few days to get caught up."
"Why does the letter tell us to tell the school he's sick?" Sam raised an eyebrow.
"He wants them to think Danny did this on his own, I guess." Dick shrugged.
"Can I see him?" Sam glared.
"No."
"And why is that?" Sam growled.
"It's a private facility." Dick frowned, not even slightly fazed by Sam, even though Tucker was shaking slightly behind them. He'd never seen Sam this mad.
"Then I'm really sorry." Sam apologized for seemingly nothing, then suddenly kicked him with her steel-toed combat boots. Dick seemed not really hurt, but more surprised. Sam walked out. If Sam had been a halfa, she probably would have had glowing eyes.
"Dude, Sam, that was totally uncalled for!" Tucker exclaimed.
"Tucker, Danny could be hurt! He could be in real trouble, and your not even slightly worried? They could be working with VLAD! Who knows what Vlad would do if he got his hands on Danny? Last time, he almost destroyed the entire world!" Sam yelled. Just then the doors slammed open, and none other than Bruce Wayne himself was walking towards them. He looked really mad too.
"Why did you kick my son?" He demanded, though he was keeping his cool.
"Where are you keeping Danny?" Sam fired back. She looked about ready to kill someone.
"You broke the skin." Bruce glared.
"There are two things in this world that make me really angry. When people call me Samantha and when people separate me and the only two friends I have. You don't know Danny! He has nightmares in his sleep all the time! I know because he calls me at 3 AM almost every night to tell me about them. He has trouble focusing because he's scared, and not scared of all the ghosts in our freaky little town, he's scarred of himself!" Sam screamed. Tucker was still processing this. It was all new information to him.
"Why is he scarred of himself?" Bruce asked, his tone turned from anger to worry.
"He's scarred of himself for reasons you wouldn't understand! Tucker, get Jazz and Flash." Sam growled. Bruce looked surprised for a second.
"Don't you mean Dash?" Tucker grimaced at the name.
"Whatever." Sam walked out the doors of Wayne Manor. "We're not leaving Gotham until we find Danny, or so help me, I will..." Tucker didn't hear the rest as she slammed the door after her.
"Uh...I better go get them before it's to late for me and I'm murdered by a vegetarian." Tucker ran back into the party where Jazz was rolling her eyes at Dash's latest attempts to impress her. "We got to go, Sam's pretty mad. I'm actually worried about myself, and Danny, because when he get home, Sam's gonna strangle him."
"Thank goodness!" Jazz stood up and walked out followed by Dash and Tucker. They climbed into the car where Sam was sitting in the car fuming.
"We're going to find Danny, if it's the last thing I do." Sam growled. Jazz started the car and they began searching Gotham for their lost Ghost Boy.
